Hours After Prophet Iginla’s Public Advocacy, Boko Haram Released Abducted Pastor

Interestingly, hours after Prophet Joshua Iginla publicly advocated for the release of the abducted clergy, we gathered that Boko Haram has released the cleric who was arrested and given an ultimatum of 7 days which was supposed to expire tomorrow.

Saharaweeklyng gathered that the cleric, Bulus Yikura, was freed this evening, as revealed by Premium times. He was seen on the outskirts of Maiduguri as he was being conveyed to the office of the State Security Service in Borno, at about 6:15 p.m.

It would be recalled that just Last week, Boko Haram circulated a video where Mr Yikura called on the government of Nigeria and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to save him. He said his abductors threatened to take his life at the end of the week.

Worried over the undue silence over his fate, Iginla raised prayers for the abducted clergy in Borno. He urged the Federal government to apply the same channels they used in releasing the abducted students to ensure they are released:
Am a bit worried over the pastor that was captured in Borno and given a 7 days ultimatum. I watched the clip and asked for the federal government to come to his rescue. We will pray for him and urge the government to look at it. aside being a pastor and a Christian, he is a citizen of this country. If the captured students can be released through negotiation with the bandits, then they should negotiate for this pastor too. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

I beg the federal government to negotiate for his release if they can't reside him by sending military personnel. If we don't have a clergy who knows these people then the sheik Gumi should rise to this occasion too for the release of this pastor. If we don't speak out they might behead him. We still have Leah in custody and am worried. If the other people from other religions were being released then they should use the same means to release these other people from other religions too.

Thank God for his release...

That's great news but trust me, it had nothing to do with Iginla's comment, because boko haram has been releasing kidnapped persons including Christians during this government even before he started speaking.

Some of the released persons were even kidnapped before this government came into power as the kidnapped chibok girls who were mostly Christians.

I pray they also release Leah Sharibu and all the other persons they kidnapped. In Jesus name. Amen!
