On a larger scale, it is more of a sin not to be tribal in Nigeria. It is important to note that you can be tribal without being discriminatory.

Being tribal simply implies looking out for the good of your own people. Where it becomes a problem is if you do it at the expense of others.
You can look out for the good of your own people without doing harm to others, the same way a man takes utmost care of his household without harming other people's households.

All Nigerian governors are supposed to be tribal, that is why they were elected in the first instance - to take care of their own people. The only executive that should not be tribal is the President. Unfortunately in Nigeria, the President is practicing the highest form of discriminatory tribalism, while the governors that are supposed to be tribal are the ones looking for other tribes to please at the expense of their own people.

But he's the same Pope that said he wanted to give the people someone that's closer to them.....
