Im not here to defend Bubu or GEJ but to answer your question

The reason why GEJ was able to sell petrol at that price was because the high oil revenue meant that there was enough money to subsidse oil at the time

All in all Nigeria spent 4 trillion naira between 2010-16 subsidizing fuel.

Money that would have been saved if GEj had been allowed by you people to remove subsidy in 2012, but thanks to your protests he didnt

Also thanksto subsidy being maintained we went into debt despite having high oil prices

And despite the high spending on subsidy we still ended up owing billions in subsidy claims that took till 2018 to pay off.

The problem with.the article is that it gave the average price, which while good for statistical purposes does not give the whole picture

Even the article admits that between 2010 to 2014 oil was at $94 to $130 per barrel.

Under Buhari oil has been between $20 -80 per barrel.

But for me it does not mean that Buhari is a good leader. It means that Nigeria is running a oil dependnet and weak economy

Should we be happy that fuel price is going up? knowing that if it gets to $100 per barrel' Nigerians will be buying at maybe N500 a ltr, unlike those days when it was $90-$100 per barrel and we buy at N90 a ltr, #DoomsDays
