Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Friday received Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the state.

The Vice President who is on a one-day working visit to Sokoto will deliver a convocation lecture at the Sokoto State University. He is also expected to commission a number of project while there.

On receiving Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor Tambuwal said, “Welcome home to your people”.

Osinbajo then paid a courtesy visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar at his palace.

He was greeted with fanfare and chanting from residents and subjects of the Sultan of Sokoto.

Receiving the Vice President, the Sultan of Sokoto said, “He is here because he loves what he is doing for the development of the country.

He added that, “Thank you for all that you have been doing reaching out to everybody”.

“As our leader we thank you for coming,” the Sultan concluded.
The Vice President is expected to depart the palace for the Sokoto State University where he will deliver a convocation lecture before returning to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
