Dangote has turned himself to a very sadistic capitalist.

Man is ready to impoverish the whole of Nigeria if it will give him more money.

Just like Bill Gates that is ready to infect the world with a deadly virus so he can sell vaccine.

BUA CEO was accusing him the other day of being the reason that cement is still expensive in the country. He wouldn't allow govt throw the sector open to numerous investors.

Now he's building refinery and he is already suggesting that only those with refinery license should be allowed to import fuel so that he can tighten the sector and sell a litre at #500.

The next Southern president should stop that man. Especially the cement industry. It should be thrown open to all interested investors.
Mumu go back and study Economics 101 again you have been blinded by hate, Useless Peasant Penguin from the North Pole, how did you end up all the way in Africa?

dangote doesnt control cement market....

i dont know where you have that from....

because i produce more bananas than you, doesnt mean i control bananas....

This is not about producing more bananas, but having over 60% share in the banana market. That is a monopoly.

It means you will be in charge of deciding the price of bananas, including making decisions on who should or should not go into the banana business (or farming).

We have said this several times that Dangote's business success is not merely a result of hard work but a result of favoritism. Look at sugar, pasta, flour, cement and the rest of the basic needs, he controls the price and this is very bad! There was a time Dangote wanted to control rice and later tomato paste but thankfully it didn't work for too long. The Northerners are desperate to control food and other basic needs, that's why they will make the market so tight for a Southerner to fairly compete with their almighty Dangote undecided

If we can come up with a good blockchain technology for farmers, monopoly will end

A lot of the people condemning him here have never run a simple kiosk, successfully or otherwise.

They don't have the time or willingness to do a simple research using the most free tool, Google.

And when did WikiLeaks become the official voice of the US? Even so, the US will never favour what Dangote is doing. They prefer to take our raw materials, turn them to what we use, and sell us exorbitantly priced so-called "Foreign goods".

But what do we know? Whatever does not suit our ethnic and religious wishes has got to be the latest scam by the devil!

I don't know where this is coming from and how it relates to the topic, but you need to know a few facts about Bill Gates jnr.

You see, the Bill and Melinda Foundation is the world's second biggest donor foundation, coming after Danish non-profit Novo Nordisk Foundation.

No living human being has used his hard-earned money to fight diseases around the world like Bill Gates. As a matter of fact, Bill Gates is the world's greatest donor of all time.

What Bill Gates donates to UN and WHO, if you sum up all the donations from several African countries, it doesn't get close to his.

So, just before anyone says that Bill Gates is trying to kill them, just keep in mind that the old man has used his hard-earned money to fight diseases around the world more than most governments.

Ehn! Don't say that. Bill Gates has been planning world destruction SMH.

I wonder how people come up with conspiracy theories just to massage their egos.

Western nations protect their companies, but not at the expense of their other companies.

Unlike Nigeria, where several governments have protected Dangote, and allowed him monopolize many markets at the expense of other Nigerian investors.

We don't need a monopoly in Nigeria because many people are poor. When you monopolize many food industries, and allow one capitalist to decide prices, how would the average poor Nigerian survive?

Total rubbish from the fake news mongers people's gazzette.

If you hold them to the light now, they won't be able to produce any credible US source of this report. Which agency, department or official? Wikileaks is now a US government source? Lol they know they have a lazy, gullible audience that are willing to swallow their lies; hook, line and sinker.

How can any sane Nigerian condemn a project that will create thousands of jobs, end importation of petroleum products and boost our currency to mention a few. How?

They're just intimidated by Dangotes rising profile, especially his upcoming massive mega refinery which is giving them jitters because it is owned by the Hausa Fulani they love to hate and derogate. We see beyond the spurious facade.

They can cry us a lagoon if they wish. There is nothing they can do about Africa's wealthiest man and his great business exploits on the African continent.

If it ends importation will it reduce the price when there are no healthy competition? I wish there are many indigenous refineries in Nigeria to compete with each other. I wish the govt gives as much as they did to Dangote support to other prospective investors who wish to build indigenous refineries. I hope they encourage foreign investors who wish to build refineries in Nigeria. The implication of Dangote refineries is this, he will own all the petrochemicals that were not accounted for due to overseas refining and will employ a lot of Notherners since it is located in the north

this is the thing with whites....they speak from both sides of their mouths....
become rich as you like, but not too rich....??

does that make sense to you....

It's not about the whites but about leadership. Leadership is tough and complicated, and the US wants to maintain its status as the world's leader.

If you must be leading others, you must have stinking-rich companies to pay good taxes and influence how people lead their everyday lives around the world.

So, those leading tech firms are investing so much in research to stay in business. And no reasonable government kills innovation. Even the US government funds the research of private universities...it shows you how much they value innovation.

That's why I said that they are caught up between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Dangote businesses are not harmful to Nigeria. He is creating jobs, producing quality products and contributing to national GDP.

Maybe harmful to US interests because some of the stuffs he produces can't be imported into Nigeria but why should Nigeria care about that?

Everyone should care about their own country first according to a certain Donald Trump

Ahhh. Na wa o. Go and read the piece again. Other companies are being restricted while Dangote is being allowed to. That means in few years, Dangote will rule everything and you will pay your hard-earned money to him to buy everything you need at his own price alone since there won't be other options. And you think it's the USA that should be telling us that?
Rockefeller, rotschilds , Ford's....all these families made generational wealth due to favouritism of america government. The same America that house apple ,facebook and google (the big 3) these companies KILL competition with the connivance of the American government....have you ever wondered why the big 3 are always having problems in europe and Asia ? It's because europeans and asians see them as threats to their own tech companies and have to restrict their use and in some case like france tax them heavily ,while american government is only concerned about privacy issues with the tech companies .
The same person you are accusing here doesn't control the petroleum industry where the big money is I would be bothered if he owned She'll or Chevron.... even as commodities merchant , he don't control noodles , pasta, milk, and is not even visible in the poultry industry with minimal show in agriculture. There's no business he does that others are not doing but like everywhere there must be leaders and him being an industry leader in cement is just as it should be , if not Dangote it could be someone else......or is the opposition just because he happens to be a northerner . I remember years back , most nigerian rich men were southerners...the Abiolas , the dehinde fernandez, the harry akandes of this world

Please let's face the issue under discussion. Point out how US govt made policies to favour amazon against other US companies. I believe that's the analogy we are looking at here.

China didn't grow by letting Americans flood their market with their products, it grows by encouraging locally produced goods while discouraging importation of same. And today, China is standing chest to chest against America.
Talking about refinary license for importation, it is a welcome idea for me but government should have a plan of let say 10years to put it in place. Hence, the government can come out and say, in the next 10years, only those with license and operating refinary, operating at certain minimum capacity can import fuel in the country, believe me, before 10years we may have up to 5 operating refinary in Nigeria and I hope you know what that means for our growing unemployment and dwindling economy?
It is a welcome development to say a business man is interested in his profit while making suggestions, of course profit is his reason for going into businesses in the first place so you can't blame him for being interested in his goal. However, you can adjust his suggestions to achieve national goal. This is exactly what I expect from all of us rather than criticising him.
If you look at the message carefully, you will notice that America also talked about it's interest
