While I am not in support of the person behind this solutions proffered. The solutions given to the present problem shows brilliance in tackling this issue. Rather than the FG approach on protecting the herders without any consideration to the farmers. A nation can only be better when we grow crops able to feed the nation. Meat is secondary but plant or crop (food) is primary.

The FG government must wake up to the fact that Nigeria does not belong to a tribe but all tribes and as such decisions must be made to favour all and not selected few belonging to their tribe.

We just must reason the way forward and these solutions will help tackle the present challenges.

Tell Tinubu he is behind, we moved past farmer/herder conflict resolution. There is terrorism in the land, fulani terrorists have invaded and taking over land illegaly. We are on path to independence. What input does he have to the independence of YorubaNatiin?

2. Help the herders’ transition to more sedentary but more profitable methods of cattle-rearing. Unoccupied public land can be fenced into grazing areas or ranches and leased to herders on a very low-cost, nominal basis. The leasing is not intended to penalize herders. Rather, the nominal fee is intended to ensure the herders are invested in the project and incentivized (by reason of their investment) to use the land provided. This aspect will also mitigate any resentment over herders being given land for free. Government, in turn, being a responsible lessor, must help with supplemental feed and water in these areas. This will enable herders to better maintain and care for their livestock thus enhancing their incomes. Herders can augment income by becoming suppliers to the leather goods industry.

This man is either ignorant of the structure and operations of the Fulani nomadic system or has barely lost touch with the reality of the politics of 'Northernizarion'...

His recommendations are no doubt positive, and contributory to solving the prevailing problems of "herders/farmers" clashes. However, Tinubu may have directed his suggestion thrust at empowering the regular and visible day-to-day cattle herder, while missing out the approach of protecting the investment and political interests of the real cattle owners!

Fact is, the real cattle owners are very wealthy people, most of whom are engaged in many other dark dealings, trading trans sahara and across. They do not need the kind of 'empowerment' Tinubu is talking about!
And their interests transcend such simplicities as survival or economic goals. May I be explicit to inform Mr. Jagaban that they are carrying out an expansionist crusade! A movement that right from its roots doesn't believe in shared prosperity! They want to possess and control all resources; they believe in the conquest mentality! So, these ideas Tinubu is propounding would only, at best sound farcical to them! ( if you doubt my position, wait for a rejoinder from the likes of Myetti Allah on Tinubu's statement).

The ideas and suggestions contained in Tinubu's readings are only workable in a sound and progressive society... Unfortunately, Nigeria is not one!

He spoken the wishes of his people. Certainly a great man.
Unused land all over the south west can be fenced and leased out to Fulani heardsmen at minimum amount to graze their cattle. Quite a wise and noble solution for the SW.
But in the SS, SE this solution is totally rejected. If Fulani needs land to graze cows, they will buy just as every other citizen of this country on a willing buyer willing seller basis. Cow rearing is a business and should be treated as such.
In the north, have they created "unused land" where alcohol could be sold?

Mr. Tinubu: "Based on these strategic observations, I recommend the federal government convene a meeting of state governors, senior security officials, herder and farmer representatives, along with traditional rulers and religious leaders. The purpose of this meeting would be to hammer out a set of working principles to resolve the crisis."

Terrible recommendation on the idea about resolving problem caused by herdsmen from Mr. Bola Tinubu . His recommendation if allowed will only exacerbate the problems instead of solving them.

The land use law chapter 202 [ law of the federal republic of Nigeria 1990] gives every state governor in Nigeria the sole authority to regulate land use .

Mr. Tinubu should read that before making any recommendation. All 36 states governors should read that as well. And more importantly, president Buhari should read it too

Only state governor has the sole authority to allow herdsmen into their states, not the president of Nigeria.

If land use law is followed as stated, herdsmen issues can be resolved without violence or loss of lives.

I think Mr. Tinubu fitness to be president of Nigeria has been exposed by above recommendation. And I hope Mr. Tinubu will abandon his intention to run for the presidency of Nigeria.

Tinubu is in suppprt of RUGA as seen below:

"2. Help the herders’ transition to more sedentary but more profitable methods of cattle-rearing. Unoccupied public land can be fenced into grazing areas or ranches and leased to herders on a very low-cost, nominal basis. The leasing is not intended to penalize herders. This will enable herders to better maintain and care for their livestock thus enhancing their incomes. Herders can augment income by becoming suppliers to the leather goods industry. Additionally, herders can also develop a more symbiotic relationship with farmers by, for example, trading animal compost to the farmer in exchange for animal feed."
If above is not RUGA, please tell me what is!
