Christ Abolished The Law Through In His Flesh. by livingchrist: 12:38pm On Mar 15, 2021
The bible records that Jesus abolished the law of commandments, in other words the believer is no longer under the condemnation of the law anymore.

Ephesians 2:15
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

You see, for Jesus to establish a new covenant he had to do away with the old testament and then establish a new one.

Jesus did not reform or repair the old testament but he did away with it in his entirety through his sacrifice and established a new one instead.

The new covenant is sufficient and more superior to the old testament.

The law on the other hand served its purpose in bringing people to the messiah.

Paul records that the law is good but it is useless to establish righteousness.

The righteousness of a believer is not based on law keeping but based on his faith in Jesus Christ.
This righteousness that is not based on works is called imputed righteousness.

However, the believer is under a law called the law of Christ or the law of the spirit of Jesus, in this law we live according to our new identity in Christ, for example we live a righteous life because we have being made righteous, we do not live a righteous because we want to attain righteousness or because we want to be worthy.
A bird does not fly because it wants to be a bird but a bird fly because it is a bird.

We live holy because we are already holy, we do good because we have being made good, that is why the motivation in the new testament is to walk according to our spiritual state.

there is no condemnation to those who walk in the spirit.
But immediately a believer trys to live holy or to be righteous by depending on the flesh he or she has fallen from grace and as such crucifying the Lord Jesus afresh again.
This false teaching of works for salvation has pervaded the churches today and is what is common today, these teaching has the appearance of godliness but deny the power thereof, they preach for men to do righteousness but deny the power of godliness.
The power of godliness is grace! The flesh is completely useless and vain and woe to him that depend on the flesh, grace is God giving us freely that which we work for.

The law is not of faith hence those whose righteousness is from their ability to keep the law do not live by faith.

The old testament today is pointer to the new testament and with the new testament we can better understand the old testament.

C'mon, The Law in force after Moses was the Subverted, Corrupted and Perverse One!

See Jeremiah 2:19 and other scriptures before The Lord came to the earth.

"... and they that handled The Law knew Me Not"

So which law where they applying?

Answer: The Corrupted version, which is what you see in the case of the Adulteress Woman; they prosecuted the woman but hid the man when The Law clearly Stated that it Must be the 2 Parties who must be stoned!

So Christ came to Restore the Original One given to and through Moses!

You dont know what you are saying.
Paul was not talking of any corrupted law but the original law given to moses.

Romans 7:12
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

I know, The Law is Indeed Holy and has Always been Holy, but man is Not!

And the keepers of The Law, that is the Pharisees and Scribbles were evil people, so shall they be able to AdministerThe Law which Condemns All the evil things they do?

Answer: Never! They have to bend and twist The Law to cover all their evil activities, exactly as our Nigerian politicians do!

And as they have shown in the Murder of Our Lord, Killing, Bribing, threatening and falsification of evidence, is not beyond them.

So the Law which they have bent and twisted and established is Not The Law!

Jesus said he has not come to abolish the law but you are saying he came to abolish the law .
Are you not afraid of the wrath of God ?

Are saying that it is no longer a sin to kill ?
Or are you saying a christian can go to heaven with adultery ?

You have to understand what Jesus was saying, you only quoted one-quarter of what Jesus said. Look at his full statement

Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Vs 18 clarified vs 17, Jesus didnt destroy the law it but he fulfilled it.
There is a difference between destroy and abolish it, infact to destroy has somewhat to do with to condemn or to ruin but to abolish means to bring to an end or to stop it.
Vs 17 says the law cannot pass away until it is fulfilled what does that tell you? Once the law is fulfilled it passes away, that is what Christ did.

A car idling can be stop by destroying the car or simply by switching it off with its key.

Using a car as an example of what Jesus was saying, he didnt come to destroy the car but turn the key to a position where it can stop, which is fulfilling it.

Or else why dont you slaughter animals for sacrifice again? Was it not part of the law?

The simple answer is no, no murderer, or adulterer will inherit God's kingdom.

The case is settled since no one that breaks the law shall inherit the kingdom of God.

What we are not expected to follow are those rituals that have to do with animal blood sacrifices.

Christians are expected to be doer of the law and not speak evil of the law :

James 4:11 KJV
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Everyone has broken the law including you, so flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. This is actually bad news if you depend on the law.

@ bolded A Christian walks in the faith of Jesus christ so is not under the law.

Galatians 5:18
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

James is referring to those who do not depend on the faith of Jesus christ alone

James 2:1, 8 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

Before God called Abraham out of Ur there was no written laws (commandments) because God wanted humans to see for themselves how difficult it will be for mankind to cohabit without His guidance.
Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph all lived by conscience not commandments!
It was after God saw that a nation has been formed through the lineage of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob namely Israelites that He brought them out of Egypt under heavy burden of slavery and gave them a constitution that will distinguish them as a unique people under His own guidance! Exodus 19:5
This commandment served like a barrier between the Israelites and all other nations. When talking about God's people throughout the whole earth any interested persons must travel to Jerusalem monthly or annually (at least) to worship the one and only true God with God's people! Isaiah 2:3
So that was God's arrangement for worship until the coming of Christ {Genesis 49:10} when he arrived the arrangement changed because Jesus destroyed the Temple (spiritually speaking) and replaced it with his body {John 2:19} this means all the settings, prayers, incense, sacrifices and COMMANDMENTS having to do with that old covenant has been dissolved! Matthew 27:51 compare to John 19:30
Now whoever wants to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob only need to assemble with the Christians {Matthew 18:20 compare to John 4:20-24} with Christ's death all the laws ended and we're completely wiped off! Romans 10:2-4
Whoever want to worship the true God only need to study diligently Jesus' life and ministry with thorough meditation. Now these is not an easy task that's why God arranged for a book titled "The Act of Apostles" in this book what we need to know about pure worship is clearly stated. But it was only the Jews that were practicing Christianity in the Bible book of Act, that's why Jesus arranged for the last Apostle named "Paul" this man will teach all other nations how to practice Christianity! Act 9:15 compare to 1Timothy 2:7
That's why Apostle Paul called the Christians in Galatia "FOOLS" {Galatians 3:1} because this people still hold onto the old covenant laws instead of studying the Christians to know the principles guiding Christianity! Galatians 1:2-3
So it's not easy for people who don't associate with the true Christians to know decipher this secret, they will just continue to jump from one opinion to another in confusion.
Jesus has completely fulfilled all what the laws said about him {Matthew 5:17} so Christians don't need those laws anymore! Galatians 3:23-26

God bless you and may you have PEACE! smiley

All these because you people do not want to observe the Sabbath!

When you observe closely, you will realize that almost all those who are shouting "the end of the Law", "the end of the Law", are liars, thieves, adulterers and adulteresses, etc and, therefore, want to unburden their consciences. No one is forcing you people to obey and teach the Ten Commandments.

However, as for me and my household, not only will we obey, we will teach the great and awesome Ten Commandments of YHVH Almighty. I will teach my children the Ten Commandments of YHVH Almighty and the importance of obeying them. My children will teach their own children and their children will teach their own children. So it will be in my lineage for ever. This is because we will always recognize that Yahushua the Messiah is the embodiment of the Ten Commandments of YHVH Almighty and that every blessing/punishment which YHVH Almighty, the Father, has ever carried out, and will ever carry out, has always been and will always be tied to obedience/disobedience to them.

You made some vital points till you narrowed it down to Christianity. Which you will further narrow down to your group.

Listen:

John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 YHVH is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

In Spirit and in Truth. What Truth? Which Spirit? How do you worship the Father in Spirit? How do you worship the Father in Truth.

Basically, all those who worship the Father today will be recognized by what they do. Do? Do what exactly? Could it be their deeds, that is, the works of their hands? What in the Scripture acts as a compass as far as the deeds of the saints of Yahushua the Messiah are concerned?

Yes of course, the law was our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ so we could be justified through faith, after faith is come we are no longer under the schoolmaster.

Galatians 3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Galatians 3:25
But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Christ is the end or the purpose of the law to everyone that believe.
Romans 10:4
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

The book of Revelation says ,'' no thief , murderer , idolaters etc shall enter the kingdom of God.

if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, that is why 1 Corinthians 6vv11 said such were some of you, meaning a christian has already being transformed.

The righteousness of the pharisees were of the law, the only righteousness that exceeds the righteousness of the law is the righteousness of God through christ Jesus.
Through faith in Christ a Christian has being given this superior righteousness.

Righteousness can never come from the law, infact all those under the law are under a curse.

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

Romans 3:22
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Good afternoon brethren. Please kindly know that the law the lord abolished is called “the law of sin and death”.Thanks
the new law is the law of the spirit or the law of faith, that is the law a Christian is subject to.
This law gives freedom, and its characteristics is love and faith

Freedom from what? undecided

There are a total of about 7 covenants in the Bible and every one of them was made by God who is Love Himself and so all of His Covenants have the characteristics of Love , requiring obedience of the commands, rules and statutes contained. So is your definition of love and faith different from that which God Himself has instituted from the beginning? undecided

Ha!!!!

Yes, this is True, Even before the Commencements were given Exodus 16:4

4Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

Did they Obey? No!

On the day they were to receive The Commandment, did they receive it?

Exodus 32:7 and 8
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:

8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

The Answer, No, they Did not Want it.

After the Commandments was given to them, did they still want to keep it?

All the Prophets Stand Witnesses to the Truth that they departed from The Law and Never ever
Obeyed it, as Moses had Warned and Cursed From Deuteronomy 4:1-28 and Deuteronomy 28:15-68.

Jesus Christ did not abolish that Law either. undecided
Jesus Christ made it quite clear that He did not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it, and in John 3 vs 16 -21, we are told that those who refuse to believe in Him remain condemned by the "Law of Sin and Death" which is not to be confused with the Old Covenant Law of Moses. undecided

But the law of Grace and Truth is that which is active in a believer
You are right.. the New Covenant is active in those who belong to Jesus Christ but the other 6 or so Covenants that God made in the Bible, all remain active since they are all eternal in nature, as is the Word of God. undecided

Matthew 9:17
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

What did Jesus mean by this parable?
This verse below explains what Jesus meant.

Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

You cant begin with faith and then hope to be made perfect through the law this is putting new wine into old bottle skin or vice versa.

You begin with in Jesus and you are made perfect by that same faith.

Anyone who seek to be perfected by the law has already fallen from grace.

Galatians 5:4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Christ mean nothing to those who seek to be justifies by the law hence the fall way from Christ.

Contrary to popular belief to fall away does not mean to commit sin, it means to stop depending on faith in christ.

The verses from Galatians do not speak of the same thing Jesus Christ meant when He stated not to store Old wine in New Wine skin at all. undecided

Please PRESENT those PRACTICING what you're teaching so that others can learn by following their example! Hebrews 13:7 smiley

Hebrews 13:7 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

As long as the Righteous Walk is concerned, if you can't read the Instructions of Yahushua the Messiah as given in the Scriptures and follow them, is it the example of mere mortals that you will follow?

I will continue to present the Instructions of Yahushua the Messiah, Ten Commandments, to you and others. If you can't accept and obey them, is it mere mortals that you will accept and follow. However, if you reject them and accept and follow the instructions of mere mortals, that is entirely your prerogative. The Righteous Walk is an individual one.
