South-West governors are not transparent about how they spend security votes and have failed to call for restructuring because they are afraid of President Muhammadu Buhari, a former Chairman of Transparency International Nigeria, Maj.-Gen. Ishola Williams (retd.), says.

“All the governors should work together and tackle these crimes. But it appears to me that most governors in the South-West are so afraid of Abuja. In a federal system, what are they afraid of? Why are they not talking about restructuring? Is it because of the cheap money they are getting from Abuja?

“They go to Abuja, collect money, and nobody knows how they spend the money. There is no accountability. Nobody knows how they spend security votes. They have no integrity, and they know that,” he asserted.

Mr. Williams did not spare other state governors accusing them of creating problems for Nigeria.

“They are the ones creating problems for Nigeria. Yes, the governors are the ones creating problems for Nigeria. Governor Nasir El-Rufai seems to be the only one talking about restructuring. The South-West governors are keeping quiet,” stated the former general.

He spoke in an interview published in Punch on Sunday, describing the country as lacking integrity.

Speaking about Sheikh Ahmad Gumi’s request that the federal government create a commission for Fulani herders, Mr. Williams pointed out that the Islamic cleric spoke out of ignorance.

“Sheikh Gumi is talking about creating a commission for the Fulani herders, whereas there is the National Commission for Nomadic Education created many years ago.

“That commission was created to specifically help the herdsmen. When Gen. (Muhammadu) Buhari was the chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund, he gave a lot of support to Miyetti Allah. So what is Sheikh Gumi talking about?”

Further expressing his displeasure, Mr. Williams explained, “Other regions have commissions too that they are using to make money. Whether it is the Niger Delta or the North-East Development Commission, what happens there? Money disappears! Why do we continue to create commissions that enable a particular set of people to take care of themselves?

He also castigated Mr. Buhari and the National Assembly regarding how they handled the case of the ousted EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu. “Even after the National Assembly investigates such commissions, why don’t let the citizens see the reports?

“Look at the case of the sacked acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu. Have they finalised their investigations before appointing a new chairman? When you look at the whole thing, you will conclude that Nigeria is not a nation of integrity.”

Everyone of them is afraid but respect for the president should be sacrosanct. However, taking good decision that will benefit their people should be paramount first.Loyalty is first to the nation and not the body language of the president.

Armed robbers, ritualists and local kidnappers are arrested and tackled head on but immediately
a Fulani culprit is involved in a crime, you political tools starts crying about avoiding war. If the bandits
wrecking havoc in the SW are Yorubas or from the SE, SS or even neighboring countries, these governors
won't issue ultimatums or waste time to tackle them.

When did fighting crime become a declaration of war?

@ bolded, it's very important to know which region you are from..

Are you referring to one region that only what the governor can do after attack is crying?

How about the governor that would prefer to tell his people to go on 7 days fasting after the attack?

Plenty Northern states governor's are paying Boko haram, bandits and herdsmen monthly so that they they won't attack their state.

Again, which region are you from

I fully agree with you that's why is good to give fulani all the land in Yewa and run to Benin Republic for peace to reign even if such can't happen in Kano or Sokoto

You are even afraid of answering a simple question on a faceless forum.
If the figure head governors are afraid of fighting VIP criminals, I can understand your fear of not wanting to
provoke the VIP group online.

It is even so bad that the bald-headed accidental idiot in Ogun government house is denying his own people scattered across various
IDP camps and pretending as if nothing is happening.
That single denial should have ended his political career, yet he is still smiling at the camera.
Amosun could never have been this bad.

Which question are you asking?

Probably you couldn't comprehend my last response... No region, I repeat no region handle security matter than SW region even for the fact they are not meeting up to expectations...

Why are you afraid to tell your region or perhaps state so that we can debate about the security situation there.

Like this, one day you or yours will drop. That is how evil works. Guess what? Others will avoid "unnecessary war". So many monikas that behaved like you are no longer here. They weren't deactivated rather they fell prey to their own mischief. Avoiding unnecessary war led to Benue having some of their conquered communities renamed and taken over by Fulanis. Your plans in SW will not work.

The only slaves in Nigeria are Igbos followed by the Hausas.

Yorubas have been executive presidents and they control the economy of Nigeria and have the highest and best human power both in Nigeria and abroad.

Remove govt from Hausas or Fulanis and you will notice their slavery than it is now.The Hausa and Fulani slaves depend on the South.

The slavery of Igbos is the most obvious in Nigeria.

I am more Yoruba than you could ever be so you can't tell me the things I already knw about my Yoruba people .

If you take away politics from my Yoruba people they will automatically be useless .

The igbos you talked about 're undoubtedly the most successful in terms of business and most traveled tribe in Nigeria .
