I am trying to figure out how the N797 billion Abuja To Kano highway 375km in length in the arid north was approved at a record breaking N2.1 billion naira per kilometre. How can Babatunde Fashola justify this. Redeemed Christian Church of God recently executed a 8.2KM road contract at Ifewara,Osun at a cost of N22.9 million per kilometre for a total contract sum of N188 million naira. This is a reconstruction contract on an existing road. No land needs to be reclaimed, no trees need to be felled and no local communities needs to be paid compensation.
