ShaqFu: ShaqFu: Too self absorbed to understand that your need to be coddled is not a priority when it comes to others safety. It’s not all men. Yet all women have to be careful. All women have to stay home after dark All women have to dress ‘decently’ to avoid tempting you guys. Oh I meant to say “some of you guys” It’s not all men, yet all women have to go out with a buddy to ensure their safety. All women have to be careful whom they accept anything from lest it be considered a permission to rape them. All women exist in a world where they are constantly conscious of their actions or inactions so that they don’t get blamed for whatever happens to them. It’s not all men but it’s enough of you men that the rest of you who think you’re “good guys” should be concerned too. But you are not. Instead of shifting the focus to yourself. Instead of making the conversation about pacifying your sense of guilt, you should be talking to other men. Getting involved in understanding how you can help your fellow men to stop denting y’all’s image all over the world. Not all snakes are poisonous but if I see a bunch of snakes coming my way, I’m not waiting around to see which one is going to bite me or not. Unfair to the rest of the snakes I know but self preservation usually hits first. So instead of being upset with people talking about men’s assault on women and trying to single yourself out, reflect on how you can influence your male friends to do better. You may never have raped someone, but someone in your group has. Someone in your group has laughed about it. Someone in your group has joked about it. Someone in your group has blamed the victim once. You are all complicit. 100% complicit. A discussion of women’s safety is not a place or time to make things about you. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

cococandy:You should have thought of this before you jumped on my mention. I suppose the safety of others to you doesn't involve men, just women? Yea right, self absorbed indeed. It’s not all men. It's not just about all women have to do this and that, my self absorbed female. Over here in Nigeria, every have to be careful. One can get kidnapped, maimed, lynched or worse still, bombed by terrorists. It's what is happening in the country. But as usual, you're too self absorbed to even see that on one (men, women and children) is even safe in Nigeria. Yet you still think it's about you women when the country is becoming something else. It’s not all men, yet all women have to go out with a buddy to ensure their safety.Like I told you before, it's not about you women alone. So please stop being too self absorbed and too selfish to know that today in Nigeria, no one is safe. Like if a governors convey can be attacked, who do you now think is safe? It’s not all men but it’s enough of you men that the rest of you who think you’re “good guys” should be concerned too. But you are not.Believe me my self absorbed and selfish friend, we men are concern, albeit we are concern about the general state of insecurity in the country. Nobody is safe the way things are becoming now, so we the so called good guys are concern and we are doing everything we can. It's not just about speaking against rape and sexual assault against women, it's about building a society and creating a consciousness where people (including women who use kanyamata) feel safe and they know they have a stake. Instead of shifting the focus to yourself. Instead of making the conversation about pacifying your sense of guilt, you should be talking to other men. Getting involved in understanding how you can help your fellow to stop denying y’all’s image all over the world.Actually, we the good guys are not just talking to other men, we are talking to other women as well. Like the women who commit paternity fraud and those who use kanyamata. Like I told you above, everybody should be involve, It's not just we male folk who have bad reputation, I'm sure you know (you may deny it) you women also have bad reputation. So please stop using this stereotype mindset. It's bad out there as it is, having women who believe it's all about them won't help matters. Not all snakes are poisonous but if I see a bunch of snakes coming my way, I’m not waiting around to see which one is going to bite me or not. Unfair to the rest of the snakes I know but self preservation usually hits first.Well its up to you. While at it you can give yourself some space from the guys at your work place, even your brothers, father and uncles. Simply put, make yourself a one woman show and become a lesbian. So instead of being upset with people talking about men’s assault on women and trying to single yourself out, reflect on how you can influence your male friends to do better. One is prone to get upset when women like you stereotype all men. Like I said, it's not only women who get assaulted, men also get assaulted, you saying women get more assaulted them men simply mean you're very guilty of what you're accusing men of. We men should speak to ourselves about raping women while you women don't see the need to speak to you selves also put raping men, committing paternity fraud and using kanyamata on men. You may never have raped someone, but someone in your group has. Someone in your group has laughed about it. Someone in your group has joked about it. Someone in your group has blamed the victim once.I suppose you women, including you, aren't complicit? Like you're the Virgin Mary right? So women are the only ones who should be kept safe? Men who are raped by women shouldn't be kept safe, right? Oh yeah we are men and we can handle it. A discussion of the safety of everyone in a country isn't the place and time to make it a discussion about women alone. 1 Like |

ShaqFu: You said I’m generalizing which means to make a general statement, which means I was speaking generally... You’re in denial about the fact that gender based violence affects women in majority. You’re even making a mockery of the situation by saying men are raped. Certainly, male children are sometimes sexually abused along with female children though it is not as common... but which men are being raped to such a degree that the increase in rape cases has been so significant? 1 in 4 Nigerian girls are sexually assaulted by the time they are 18 years old. That’s an epidemic and your denial will only make that worse. What’s really annoying is someone who grows in a very male-centered society. You see how males are favored and treated as superiors, you were raised under this. But for conversations where the harm men do is pointed out you will now be a faux feminist shouting “EQUALITY, WE ARE ALL THE SAME!” |

U have issue with a woman she tears her cloth and that's all the prove she needs, she will nail you for life. Small girls from 10 know understand how powerful they are, they use their weapon against teachers, doctors, pastors, lecturers, drivers etc. So far you are a man you are in danger. Men wake up stop supporting women against men just bcox of brest n pusi. Not all stories about rape is true 60-75% r set up |

Komu1048: Imagine being a man, growing up in a society that has coddled you so much that you believe 10 year old girls are to blame for grown men raping them. This is an entirely disgusting statement and reveals the decay of society. For some men it is entirely too late for them, they cannot be cured of their delusions. But their delusions are harmful to others, especially women and children. They will rape a girl of 10 and say she used her “power” against them. To be in a country such as Nigeria but complain that women have the power!? against all factual besides ex any metric you look at... I just... I am almost speechless |

McSquishi:Oh so I shouldn't say men are raped? Or I shouldn't say little boys are also raped by older women? So according to you, I shouldn't even say anything about men/boys being sexually assaulted or molested because women are more sexually assaulted and molested than men. So this means, according to you, women/girls being sexually assaulted/molested is more important than men because women/girls are in majority. Hmmmm. I see, what a twisted mindset you have. Imagine you saying I'm making a mockery of the whole thing because I mentioned men being raped. Look here. Rape is wrong. It is despicable. Whether it is a man, woman, boy or girl that is raped, it is wrong!. What’s really annoying is someone who grows in a very male-centered society. You see how males are favored and treated as superiors, you were raised under this. But for conversations where the harm men do is pointed out you will now be a faux feminist shouting “EQUALITY, WE ARE ALL THE SAME!”And whose fault is the bolded? Mine or yours? This sick mindset of some of you women is becoming something else. You just believe because you have are vagina, everything should roll in your favour. Yet in this male centered society you so speak of, we've seen women who excel. Dora Akunyili, Oby Ezekwesili, Amina Mohammed, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Lola Alakija and that little angel who excelled in Mathematics Faith. Are those not women who became something in a male centered environment? Your excuses are as weak as a penis_ suffering from erectile dysfunction. You and your lot should stop making excuses. Opportunities are abound for those who see it and make use of them. Making excuses and believing because you own a vagina, lines should fall in place for you won't get you and your lot anywhere. spiceadole:That's a lame and preposterous conclusion! How many men exist on the social media? Have you been able to witness them to confirm they rape their housemaids? Are you also claiming that your brothers, father, uncle, nephew and ultimately your son will also rape their housemaid? Would it sit well with you if I wrongly allege that all the women on social media are prostitutes or potential cheats due to the unholy actions of an individual? What sort of mindset is that? Not all men have housemaids 3. Not all men who are married sleep with their housemaids. 4. Some married men don't even have housemaids. 5. There is no proof to back your claim that married men sleep with their housemaids. So, for you to base and judge because of the comments you see here, makes you narrow minded. ShaqFu: You’re creating arguments I didn’t make in order to avoid the point. Typical. You dismissed the reality of the epidemic of gender based violence and sexual assault women face in Nigeria to say “men are raped too”. That is a deflection. Men are not being raped in significant numbers to the point that nearly every NGO in the world is concerned. 1 in 4 Nigerian women are sexually assaulted before they turn 18. I’ll repeat that for you. The reason women being raped is a topic is because Nigeria ranks amongst the world highest for rapes of WOMEN not males... and the topic we are commenting under is yet another example of such violence against women and yet you tried to limit it to “one man” as if this isn’t a trend in Nigeria. Are you following now or you want to deflect again. As far as the fact that you can name a few women who have managed success despite gender oppression in Nigeria, that is pathetic. First of all, I’m sure the number of men you can name is endless whereas you can name only a handful of women. Secondly, a a minority of women being able to beat the system of oppression women face is not evidence the system doesn’t exist. Just like in a racist system the success of a few racial minorities isn’t evidence racism doesn’t exist. As far as whose fault it is, it is everyone in society who coddles men and treats them as if they are superior to women. It’s everyone who thinks women saying they are equal to men is offensive. McSquishi:Which point are you trying to make? In my opinion you aren't even making any, you're just hell bent on painting men black. It's pathetic. I’ll repeat that for you.The epidemic of gender base violence you say? You even have the effrontery to say it's a reality? Wow. What's a deflection here is you believing because men are not being raped in significant numbers doesn't count. And, these so called NGOs you speak of, why aren't they concern about poverty, terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery etc happening in the country? It's gender base violence they're disturbing themselves over. You even said nearly every NGO in the world is concerned. That is means you have record of every NGO in the world. So please do share, let's see and read. Yes, 1 in 4 Nigeria woman are sexually assaulted before they turn 18. It's sad, but what's really sad is 3 out of 4 Nigeria women are poor. Mind you I'm sure you don't know rape is common, like very common in countries where poverty is rife. I'm sure you ignore this truth and focus on your women are raped only. Now this you deflecting again. I'm sure you know Nigeria doesn't even rank among top 10 countries with highest rape cases. Here you are making abstract statements saying "Nigeria ranks among the world highest rape cases for women. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tbsnews.net/world/countries-highest-rape-incidents-144499%3famp https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country That's the link for 10 countries with highest rape cases in the world, guess what, Nigeria isn't among. So what's your Nigeria ranks among countries with highest rape cases say about you? You just want to create a mountain out of a Molehill. Just like in a racist system the success of a few racial minorities isn’t evidence racism doesn’t exist.Oh please stop making cheap excuses. You're making yourself sound like someone desperately grasping for straws when they know they don't have any point to make. You fail to know a whole lot of women are making it in Nigeria, but the media doesn't really make it news. Allover the country, women are creating milestones and making a name for themselves. It is only women like you who believe the world should revolve around them and everything should be handed over to you on a platter of gold because, you're a woman who make this very cheap excuses. Men are making it in Nigeria just like women. Things like gender oppression against women are becoming a thing of the past. So stop making excuses. Excuses are for cheap people. As far as whose fault it is, it is everyone in society who coddles men and treats them as if they are superior to women. It’s everyone who thinks women saying they are equal to men is offensive. It’s everyone who upholds double standards that benefit malesAnother excuse as usual. Men aren't being coddle, women are. Yes I know some people even women see women as inferior to men, but that's something base on their personal view. Women are given opportunities all over the country. Even this present government have given women the opportunity to show what they're made of. So stop living in the past. Come to the future. 1 Like |

ShaqFu: Ok, I’m not reading all this nonsense. You say I don’t have a point then go on to argue against each one of them. Not agreeing with my points is not the same as accusing me of not having any. My point can be found in my original comment: Nigeria in particular really has a problem as far as men feeling women are inferior beings. It’s all throughout the culture and is a cancer to society. You can use semantics all you want and say since Nigeria is not officially TOP 10 of rapes worldwide (despite infamously low rates of reporting) it’s a safe place.... but no country where women are sexually assaulted 1 in 4 by the age of 18 is safe and it is an epidemic. Nigeria is ranked like number 3 most dangerous countries for women in Africa and 9th most dangerous countries for women worldwide. All the other stuff you’re saying to obfuscate and distract from the reality of gender based violence I’m not interested in. You are throwing poverty, terrorism, and finally blatant denial at my statements to keep from admitting Nigeria has a real men problem. Nigerians are not taking time to teach men how to be moral, accountable, and responsible citizens. People like you will write up an entire research paper just to avoid admitting to the conditions women face. I’ll live in your fantasy with you: Nigeria is very safe for women. Men and women live as near equals in every facet of Nigerian society, in fact women have more power than men in some cases. So much female privilege. Nigeria is actually the capital of gender progression and serves as a beacon for the world in terms of gender equality. Enjoy your delusions. |

McSquishi:You dont have any point woman!. Stop shifting the goal post. Your initial post spoke of rape and sexual assault. My point can be found in my original comment: Nigeria in particular really has a problem as far as men feeling women are inferior beings. It’s all throughout the culture and is a cancer to society.Which original comment? You spoke of rape and Nigeria being among the highest countries with rape cases, I laid waste to that frivolous claim of yours and you're shifting the goal post. Lol. Just in case you don't know. Men feeling superior to women is not a Nigerian thing, it's a world thing. So stop lamenting. Beside, this thing about feeling inferior is a thing of the mind. So, if you want to feel inferior please go ahead. You can use semantics all you want and say since Nigeria is not officially TOP 10 of rapes worldwide (despite infamously low rates of reporting) it’s a safe place.... but no country where women are sexually assaulted 1 in 4 by the age of 18 is safe and it is an epidemic. Nigeria is ranked like number 3 most dangerous countries for women in Africa and 9th most dangerous countries for women worldwide.Yes! Infamously low rate of reporting, yet it was reported Nigeria is among the top ten country that is unsafe for women and number 3 in Africa, Yeah right. I see your sentiment. I've laid waste to the bolded. I provided hard core facts, yet you're still mentioning it. I honestly believe you just want Nigeria to be the world's highest rape capital. Sorry though, it's not about what you what. Facts are more important than what you want. All the other stuff you’re saying to obfuscate and distract from the reality of gender based violence I’m not interested in.of course Nigeria has real problems. No one is doubting that. Nigeria has many problems and for you to focus on the problem of men alone speak about the kind of human being you are. I suppose its about time we men speak out anytime we hear of any case where some of you women wash your vaginas and use the water to cook for some men etc. I believe it's the fault of men some of you lot use juju to brainwash we men in other to do you bidding. You're the one living in a fantasy. I've already shown you the truth. You can choose to accept it, or deny it. It's up to you. However know the truth is bitter and bitter things is what people like you are oppose to. I guess you just want to believe Nigeria is the worse place for women on this planet. Every Nigeria woman has been raped or sexually assaulted at one point in time, every Nigerian woman is oppressed and not given the right opportunity etc. Please feel free to believe what you want. However, like I said, the facts are there and they're way bigger and better than you and your frivolous beliefs. Cheerio. 1 Like |

You so right. I could remember when i was growing up, had our housemaid that refused to sleep me(i later learnt, she was in a serious relationship with our neighbour a secondary sec boy). I never for once laid hands on her, infact we became good friends to the extent she could confide in me more than my sisters. With time she started introducing her friends to me, to cut it short. Under her, i had the highest number of secondary School girls(ss2 and 3). They would flock around, some would even leave her in school and come to my house asking if she was at home. I once told her that I SURRENDER! She laughed. Ironically, we never had sex and she stayed with us for 8years till we relocated and left town. quote author=AsherAmari post=100092827]Shameless man. They can't handle rejection. Imagine the kind of torture he gave this little girl just because she rejected him. He should be dealt with. [/quote] |
