We lost a lot..The worst is having your worst enemies who committed brutal genocide against your people, becoming presidents over you for over half a century! Basically taking turns to destroy and eviscerate all the structures you erected to be great. Gowon banned the igbo State Union which was largely responsible for setting up funds to build schools and scholarshipss..., nationalized mission schools and used funds for reconstruction in the east to build bridges all over Lagos! The impact is vicious! Uptill this day.. That is why we have to fight another war to correct those mistakes since the "winners" have made it a point of duty to hold the east down for ever...

Do we really need to fight another war or fold our hands and watch Nigeria self destruct with what Is happening in the north east north west and part of south west

Very good idea.. I do think that way too sometimes...
But for the outcomes to favour the east, I have come to realize that rebellious actors from the east need to get involved to some extent in order to skew the end results to favourable paths.. You can't make omelettes without breaking some eggs. The destruction going on their will surely incapacitate the abilities of an imperial northern oligarchy to optimally function as a political unit within the Nigerian environment in the long run. But for the end results to favour your interests, you have to either fuel the fire by helping some groups with what they need to fend off the coercive instruments of the state, or work within the government apparatus to thwart efforts being made to neutralize the insurgents.. We talking real-politik now.., you just have to drop the 'debilitating morales' at the door!

This is why I don't understand it when some igbos cry more than the bereaved after insurgent attacks in the North! What exactly is their problem with that? Both the "killer and the killee" hate you with passion and have always worked together to unleash an endless avalanche of ethnic cleansing episodes on you! So why are you not happy they're 'cancelling' each other out? Because your Rev Father told you to turn the other side for that endless slaps? But you have been slapped deaf already.... You should be clandestinely involved in helping them to fight to finish, while actively enhancing your abilities to effectively deal with the aftermath in your zone! This is the only way you can free yourself from the clutches of subjugation.. If it means 'creating' ten more Boko Harams, close your nose and just do it! To eliminate over 5 million of your type, they did worse...., and up till this day, no remorse..So?

Shell signs up for Lagos, Ogun gas provision

Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) has signed a deal to provide gas to industrial and manufacturing companies in Lagos and Ogun states.

The deal will run for 20 years, it said. SNG has signed the agreement with Nigerian Gas Marketing Corp. (NGMC). Shell will also extend its distribution network into Badagry.

“This agreement will enable local industries to thrive and create employment opportunities for Nigerians. We look forward to continuing to grow domestic gas distribution to industries and manufacturing plants in Ogun State and other parts of Nigeria while unleashing the industrial potential of Badagry,” SNG’s managing director Ed Ubong said.

Ubong said the agreement would help increase domestic gas use in Nigeria. He highlighted the industrialisation boon for Agbara, Igbesa and Ota areas of Ogun.

Shell Nigeria’s country chair Osagie Okunbor said the deal would provide “tremendous benefits to the economy”. Shell’s work in Nigeria will “continue to turn Nigeria’s domestic gas opportunities into reality through our strategic intent to develop enough gas to meet our current commitments and future growth plans”.

SNG signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Oyo State in October 2020. The company agreed to develop a master plan for gas and also construct distribution facilities.

The company said it has gas and infrastructure deals covering more than 150 customers, primarily in Ogun, Abia, Oyo, Rivers, Bayelsa and Lagos. In 2019, SNG said it was supplying 100 customers, in Ogun, Abia and Rivers states.

While Shell has withdrawn from some of its onshore assets, offshore production and gas utilisation projects still seem to appeal. The company is working on the Assa North gas development in Imo State, part of the $700 million ANOH plan. Shell’s partner Seplat Petroleum expects first gas at the project in the last quarter of 2021.

Assa North-Ohaji South Project

Gas will be treated at the primary treatment facility (PTF) to be located between the existing Assa North-1 surface drilling centre and the Assa flow station. The facility is estimated to have a capacity of 600Mmscf/d gas and 45,000bbl/d of condensate.

The PTF will comprise two 300Mmscfd gas dehydration facilities, 15 wellheads, associated flowlines for H1 and H4 wells, NAG inlet facilities for H1 and H4 wells, and other facilities. The stabilised liquids are proposed to be stored at the four 100,000bbl tanks.

The processing plant will comprise two Thompson trains with a turndown capacity of 50%. It will also feature a 20,000bbl/d two-train condensate plant, which is capable of recovering 1,200bbl/d of LPG.

Of the total gas production, 300Mmscfd will be processed at the new gas processing plant owned by the SPDC JV, while the remaining gas will be processed at the proposed processing plant by SEPLAT Petroleum.

The processed gas will be transported to the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) and West African Gas Pipeline (WAGP) through a 26km-long spur line connecting to the OB3 pipeline. The produced LPG will be trucked directly to Owerri, while the condensate will be exported to either Shell Bonny and or ENI’s Brass River terminal.

AJAOKUTA-KADUNA-KANO (AKK) GAS PIPELINE

Laying of 614km Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano 40’’ natural gas pipeline. The states that bestride the pipeline corridor are Kogi, Federal Capital Territory (FCT Abuja), Niger, Kaduna, and Kano, and the pipeline will cross seven major rivers and 10 major roads. The Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline (Phase I) Project is phase 1 of the Trans-Nigeria Gas Pipeline Project that is driven by the availability of additional gas supplies from Assa Gas Plant and the need for gas supply in the Northern / Eastern states through the Obigbo-Umuahia-Ajaokuta and Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano pipelines.

The feed gas into the pipeline system is expected to be 3,500 MMscfd of dehydrated wet gas sourced from various gas gathering projects in the Southern region. Hydrocarbon liquids from this process will be further processed at Ajaokuta to produce liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), while the remaining will be transported through the pipeline to serve as feed stock for power and new petrochemical facilities planned for Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina.
