Alex Okoh Bio

Mr. Alexander Ayoola Okoh (October 1, 2020) was appointed the Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Prior to his appointment, Okoh was the Managing Partner of Ashford & McGuire Consulting Ltd, a leading, wholly indigenous management consulting firm.

The DG, who is currently a member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Council, has 32 years experience, 22 of which were in banking where his responsibilities involved general management, leadership and organisational development.

He was the Managing Director/CEO of NNB International Bank Plc from 2001 to 2006, where his visionary leadership took the bank from a comatose state to a position of enhanced value for stakeholders. During his career in the banking sector, he served in a variety of leadership roles, including corporate banking, operations, treasury, as well as initiating and designing transformative projects and processes.

His banking career saw him working for Nigeria International Bank Limited (Citibank) and United Bank for Africa Plc, while his international experience included stints with Citibank New York, Fidelity Bank London, Swiss Banking Corporation, Zurich and Grindlays Bank, Zimbabwe.

As BPE helmsman, he has embarked on a comprehensive change programme of rediscovery and repositioning that has put the Bureau on a path of disciplined and responsible reform and privatisation, as well as an effective post-privatisation management regime. This programme will ensure that the reform objectives of the FGN are pursued with transparency, integrity and confidence and that the government and people of Nigeria become the ultimate beneficiaries.

Okoh studied Sociology at the University of Benin and holds a Master’s degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Ibadan. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme.

Pastor Alex is a Redeemer's International Leadership Academy (RILA) Alumnus, member of the RILA Governing Board, and was Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG, Olive Tree Parish, Banana Island.

Good appointment, he seems qualified for the job judging from his previous appointment and experience.

God bless the good people of Nigeria...please note, I said the 'good people of Nigeria' not the evil people dragging us backwards.

The Yorubas have really benefited from this government. I cannot imagine that they will be clamouring for secession from Nigeria.

The South West is the second biggest beneficiary of one Nigeria after the north because the Lagos effect (as the commercial capital of the country) is having a ripple effect across the region.

Congratulations to the new appointee anyways.

It's only this kind of inconsequential positions he apportioned to the south. What happened to Custom, Intelligence, Immigration, NNPC, Security agencies, etc. Is it only the North that has capacity to handle this sensitive portfolios?

Ogun tops Buhari’s 190 political appointees, South-east least represented.
Ogun State in South-west Nigeria has the highest number of political appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari since his re-election in 2019 holding 17 out of a total 190 appointments, a document exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES has revealed.
It is followed closely by Adamawa State with 14, and Kano, Lagos and Oyo states with 12 appointees each.
They are trailed by Katsina, Osun, Edo and Ondo with eight appointees apiece, Kwara and Ekiti with seven each while Delta comes next with six appointees.
States with the least appointments, according to the document, are Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Imo, Plateau and Zamfara, all of which have one political appointment each.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has no single political appointee.
Ogun is the home state of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Zonal distribution
On a zonal basis, the South-west geo-political zone, comprising Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti, tops the list with 64 appointees.
The North-west, Mr Buhari’s home zone, which has seven states altogether, comes a distant second with 37 appointees.
The states in the zone are Kebbi, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara and Katsina where Mr Buhari hails from.

If this isn't enough, I've list of his MDAs appointments from his inception to 2020. Some idiots create this non-existing Nepotism or lopsided appointment and put it in the tongue of dullards to spread.
