Former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, is on his way to the United Kingdom after the UK Metropolitan Police foiled his latest plot to flee from Dubai through a series of complex bail applications in the United Arab Emirate.

Agency reports say that the former governor took off on Friday from Dubai accompanied by officers from the UK Metropolitan Police proceeds of crimes unit.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its reaction describes the situation as a welcome development and a warning signal to others who do everything to slow down the wheel of criminal prosecution.

The commission says justice can only be delayed, but can never be denied.

Chief Ibori is expected to face charges of money laundering, forgery, grand theft and credit card fraud in the UK.

Already, his wife, Theresa Nkoyo, his sister Christine Ibori-Ibie and his associate,� Udoamaka Okoronkwo are currently serving jail terms in the UK for assisting Chief Ibori in the act of money laundering� leveled against him.

This is fine. At least people who said GEJ wanted a soft landing for him will keep quiet.
