Egypt own Suez Canal and it doesn’t pass ....
Suez Canal is a gate point between meditareanen sea and Red Sea
And this Red Sea is domiciled in Arab region(middle east)
And Egypt is an Arabic country
And can block Israel ship from accessing it
So why haven’t they do that?

The Suez Canal is a very popular and busy shipping route. Ships in the Indian and South Atlantic Oceans would have had to travel round Africa for over a week to get to Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. The same Ships man make the same journey in less than a day just by accessing the Suez canal. The Suez canal is so narrow that a big ship called the "Evergreen" blocked it yesterday.

In the South East, 4 of the 5 states there not only have water-ways that are wider than the Suez Canal, but is much closer to the Atlantic Ocean than the Suez Canel is from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.

The River Niger from Onitsha in Anambra, the Ebonyi River in Ebonyi, Ogutal River in Imo state and Azumini blue River in Obuaku, Abia, all run to the Atlantic Ocean.
maybe you guys should check the cost of the Suez canal before you start talking trash. talking about a region that does not contribute a faden to the federation account. look guys get this into your skull. bush meat is sweet everyone sees it cause it is free to look at, but not everyone can eat it. inatago! if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

Israel and Egypt have settled their issues. If Egypt start blocking ship heading to Israel, business will drop.

Even an O'level student of geography would easily explain to you that the concept of the Suez canal has to do with the depth of the channel as opposed to its width.

Always think deep before you come online to type nonsense

And you think that deepening any of those mentioned Eastern channels isn't possible?

Dredging river Niger will have negative effect on the Niger Delta state. Communities surrounded by Rivers will be losts.
There was a documentary aired on discovery channel, during the expansion of the Panama Canal and the effect on surrounding areas.

Man made that is carefully planned, you dig the ground, you sand fill and other things is disastrous Anyway FG wanted to try it and communities protested, the same will still happen when Nigeria breaks.

If you dredged the Rivers in the east, will the water level suddenly grow higher or will just the dept of the river increase? I believe dredging is about removing the sand under the river, no?

Stop doing this! You always do this! I don't know why!
Many Igbo communities in Rivers State that were carved out by the Obasanjos and the Abachas and Babangidas of this world have access to the sea, so your post is of no use!
When you argue as if igboland begins and ends with south east, you start to give credence to fake boundaries created by arch enemies! There's no need to argue, when jungle mature, we go know how far..

So stop, my brother!

All I am seeing here is just some people's greed and ignorance.

Greed because they don't care whatever happens to the riverine areas of the Niger Deltans. Later they will be doing attaché by force using SS/SE.

Ignorance because they don't know water always finds its level.

Dredging the River Niger is a big deal. Except the volume of water getting to the Onitsha part can be increased at the source (wherever the rivers flows from).

1. Dredging doesn't mean increase in water volume, you are only increasing the container to hold the water available. In which case, dredging the River amounts to expanding a bucket of water to take the shape of a tank without increasing the volume of the water. Dredging the base of the river will only make the banks of such rivers go down (no additional increment of water).

2. If you still go ahead to dredge thinking the water will fill up the hole (damming) which will means increasing the content of the bucket to fill up the shape of tank expanded to... U will be starving the people at the lower side of Niger waters (selfishness). Which none of those communities will never agree to.

3. If you go ahead and dredge it against the shout and cries of the Deltans. There will be scarcity of water to allow a cargo ship sail through the deltas in order to make its way to the dredged Onitsha part of the river. Except you have enough money to also dredge your passage through the Deltan areas.

4. If you have the money to dredge your passage through the Deltans. Then, for the water to meet sea levels, sea water will have to mix up with the Deltans fresh water. I am sure you know the amount of havoc salinity of sea water will do to the Deltans fresh waters and whatever is living inside it.

No matter how u look at it, dredging east small rivers is a fool's errand. It is a pipe dream that can never be achieved.
