Automation is Here

Hey,

People aren’t paying attention.

Politicians and workers alike are turning a blind eye to automation, something that’s going to completely upend our economy.

To give you an idea of what we’re facing, let’s look back at the outsourcing boom.

Between 2000 and 2010, the United States alone lost around six million manufacturing jobs due to outsourcing to other countries.

Which is nothing compared to what automation will do.

Automation and outsourcing have mostly affected blue collar jobs in the past, but we’re facing something that will crush blue collar and white collar workers alike.

And the pandemic is speeding it up faster than we could’ve imagined.

The US lost over 40 million jobs at the peak of the pandemic, and some economists estimate that 42% of those jobs will never come back.

A big reason for that? Automation.

Companies have been wanting to implement automation in the workplace for years, but CEOs of major companies have been afraid of doing it due to the potential public backlash like we saw with the outsourcing boom.

However, they have an excuse now: survival.

CEO’s Ramping Up Automation

Because the pandemic has hit bottom lines hard, CEOs are now able to point to automation being the only way they can survive.

“This pandemic has created a very strong incentive to automate the work of human beings,” Daniel Susskind, a fellow in economics at Balliol College, University of Oxford told Time magazine. “Machines don’t fall ill, they don’t need to isolate to protect peers, they don’t need to take time off work.”

Have you or someone you loved lost their job or income this year? We’ve come to try and shed some light on what you are going through and to give you another perspective on this.

See why losing your job is an OPPORTUNITY.
