Which civilization has the rightful claim to this famous art work.. The Benins insist they are the original owners and the Yorubas stole it from them, while the Yorubas insist it belongs to them since the era of Ile-ife. Which sides actually owns it? it's causing a stir on social media now as Benin groups are accusing the yorubas of appropriating their art work.

The Binis are silly, Ile Ife taught them how to make Bronze casting in the first place. Below is a proper research work carried out by the white people not even any black or Yoruba so they they will not claim that it was a false research. In that video, even the Benin of that era confirmed that their oral traditions told them they learnt their craft from the people of Ile Ife. Do the people of Idu Igodomigodo even had any idea of Olokun in there life? It was the coming of Oranmiyan to the land that introduced them to the Yoruba Deities. See Video evidence 4:30.

Tao11 don teach us everything we need to know about this. Tao, seems Edo liars left Nairaland (because of your floggings) to another site to start propagating falsehood to unsuspecting history enthusiasts.

How can we locate them? I am sure Gregboy or whatever id he took there will pee in his pant when he sees you there. grin

The history of the Benin will be absolutely false if their ancestral root is not traced to Ile Ife. Benins came in as a product of some Ile Ife people mixed with people from the land of Idu/Igodomigodo.
There is no where in the history of Idu/Igodomigodo during the time of the Ogisos that they where bronze casting, they did not even worship any of the Yoruba Deities then that they are claiming now. It was even during the time of the last Oba Erediauwa that they stopped speaking Yoruba language in their palace because of the threat to the palace by the Aborigines of that land such as the Ogiamens, this even made Oba Erediauwa to write the very first book claiming Oduduwa is a Prince from Idu land, a total falsehood just to mislead the People from that land in order to keep being their Oba.
OBA is a Yoruba world, before Oranmiyan came to that land, the title they used in that Idu land is Ogisos, Odionweres, Ogiame. If Oranmiyan or Oduduwa was from that land as they claim, why didn't he continue with the Ogisos dynasty and title undecided this simply tells you that he was NEVER from that land, Oba means king, Omo Oranmiyan ni Oba nedo means Oranmiyan child is the king in Edo.
To further buttress the fact that the Benin Kingdom is birthed by Ile Ife, there is historical site till date where previous heads of Oba of Benins where buried in Ile Ife, because it was a decree by Owomika ( Eweka) that he should not be buried in a foreign land rather be buried in Ile Ife where his ancestors are from. They can go and make proper research on that or perhaps a forensic study to see is it is true or not, even the current Oba had once paid a visit to the site.
If there is any Benin in doubt of the fact that their Benin kingdom (Obaship dynasty) is from Ile Ife, go to your Oba palace, look for either the chief priest, Ashipa, Otu, Osi or any person that palace that knows how to do the proper incarnation of the Ogun god, let them do incarnation for you, record it, you will find out that they will be speaking Ife dialect of the Yoruba language.
We are seeing misguided Edo youths trying to continue what Oba Erediauwa did in trying to change history to their favour because the Aborigines from that land are gradually seeing the truth and they are rising up, example is the Ogiamen guy that the Oba has arrested also a guy in Germany Murphy that is exposing historical facts
The misguided Edo youths trying to change historical facts are Imasuen Amowie Izoduwa ( Hahaha trying to copy the name Oduduwa to claim is from that land grin) also a boy in Germany called Aiyegbe Okosun owner of the page great Benin emancipation, am sure the Yorubas in Ife are just looking at them and smiling, we just hope their Oba is not part of the conspiracy because if he is, all ife needs to do is open it Archives are release facts that will make the Aborigines of Idu/Igodomigodo invade the Oba palace and kick his half Yoruba half Idu/Igodomigodo ass out of the palace grin grin I wonder where he will now go to because the Ile Ife people will not welcome any prodigal son.
Finally the last paragraph reminded me of the fact that a place was preserved for Oba of Benin in Ooni palace because it was only the Oba of Benin out of all sons of Oduduwa and Oranmiyan lineage that never founded it kingdom on a solid ground, others such as Alaafin, Alaketu etc, has no much challenges founding their kingdoms. Where Oranmiyan became Oba in Benin, he could not settle that was what he called the land Ile Ibinu corrupted to Ubini, later to Benin not until when the Ekiokpagha treaty was reached by the Ogiamen dynasty in person of Ode and Eweka dynasty by Ewedo, this is when the Oba of Benin which is half Yoruba and half Idu/Igodomigodo got a site to build the Benin kingdom, attach is the treaty. So ever since they got a site, there is no place for Oba of Benin in Ife again.

The art work speaks for itself. There should be no argument about this at all.
