WAGP is operated by Chevron but Govt through NNPC has 60% in that Joint Venture, not so? Even the WAGP project is struggling to break even as gas customers in Benin, Togo and especially Ghana are not paying for gas supplied. At a point, Chevron contemplated selling their stake.

All I said about Brass LNG, OKLNG and Bonny LNG are verifiable. Brass LNG in Bayelsa was sidelined when OBJ kept pushing OKLNG. Many people challenged the sense in pushing OKLNG then when gas from the project was mainly for export.

Coming back to the so called lucrative EWGP and WAGP, their profitability is often overstated. Most of the gas is used for power generation and we know the power value chain is broken because customers don't pay. Gas suppliers hardly get their monies and FG has to bail out the system time and time again. This is the reason why FG is pushing for cost reflective power tariffs so that the whole chain can work.

My point is, it is easy to sit and say a certain region was denied infrastructure but a deeper look will reveal the facts behind the case.

All the things you mentioned here have no basis . It is a wastage of energy. Dambazau that was calling OPC and Igbos terrorist groups like Boko Haram and Tofa complaining about statements from Dokubo and Igboho know what they are doing. In all the JV project, where has FG fulfilled 60% obligations in counterpart funding ? It is the MNOC that has always taken the risk. The WAGP despite various setback and pipeline damages are fulfilling its obligations. Industries are growing and gas usages increase. Who are the JV partners in AKK? Why Indimi and Mai Deribe cannot prospect for oil in Chad Basin or Sokoto Basin but waited for FG to spend billions of dollars is the same reason Alhaji Folawiyo went to prospect for oil in Benin Basin and died while the prospecting continues until oil was eventually found. The same reason FG cannot prospect for oil offshore Lagos using Nigeria money or borrowed money is the same reason Olokola LNG project was killed.

OBJ was pushing for it because it would open cluster of Industrial activities in that area. Lagos is congested. OKLNG is different from Bonny or Brass. It is to open up the area for cluster of Industrial activities. The area has potential for deep sea port, Air port, oil and gas and other heavy industrial activities. The Riverine areas of Ondo and Ogun State have no major industrial activity.

Nobody is talking about regional infrastructure development. There is nothing you want to talk about Brass that I have known for years during the military era having visited the Agip Brass Terminal or Bonny that is verifiable. We all know that people complained about Brass when OKLNG started, in fact, people talked about Escravos. They know the Project is Obj project and focus would be shifted there. The NNPC team and OBJ worked on that project. Enough money was in the reserve for NNPC to keep the Project moving. Yaradua just killed the Project. You said people complainedabout the Project while OBJ keep pushing it. So , it was those people that killed it according to you. Why is it that Nigeria keep spending billions to prospect for oil for decades in the North and as the people from South complain, the North in power continues.

There are so many political projects going on to prepare the North for future , because anything can happen in Nigeria.

Oil was sold at over $100 (higher crude is sold, higher the landing cost since we don't refine), infrastructure was done, debts and borrowing was kept low, subsidy for petroleum imports were paid, PMS was sold at an affordable price, economy was enabling for SME leading to job creation, taxations was keep low, inflation was at a single digit, note to even talk about the cost of living.
Comparing with the current regime;
Crude oil earning is below $100 meaning less earnings, less subsidy to pay. Multiple and high tax rate, harsh business environ leading to job loss, double digit inflation, high cost of living, currency devaluation, high debt and borrowing, high PMS cost.

Celebrating a rail built just to transport pipeline and may be abandoned or mismanaged after the pipeline has been laid or even if they try privatizing it for passenger service, the high cost will make people look elsewhere eg Lagos ibadan rail..
