So US troops should be stationed there forever? The deployment there is costing the USA billions of dollars, and as Biden mentioned, the terror threat has morphed into something else. Maybe you've not been following the attacks in Africa, Mozambique (,Patra) in particular. Or our own conflict in Nigeria with Boko Haram and ISWAP plus bandits terrorizing up North with surplus Libyan conflict weapons flowing down through conflicts zones in Mali and Niger. And don't forget the brewing conflict in eastern europe with the Russians massing massive troop numbers and equipment at the Ukrainian border. Tieing up troops in Afghanistan makes no sense at all.
