Nigerians demarket their country. Have you ever seen a Ghanaian demarket their own country? All the Ghanaians do on social media is to demarket Nigeria with the help of Nigerians, especially IPOB, that will be screaming, Nigeria is a zoo. Lol. Very soon no country will give Nigerians visa. Let me see how you will run out of the country after saying all manner of nonsense.
what do you mean when you say demarket? now that the grid is down, Nigerians shouldn't complain about it? when people are being killed extra judiciously Nigerians should smile and pass? Is there anyone who has Demarest Nigeria more than the lying minister? you guys should hide your head in shame and do the right thing.

Ghana is sitting at the bottom of the TECH world in Africa and 1 Twitter rental office with 11 ghost workers won't change that.

When you have Google with a market value of $1.3 Trillion with their African HUB here in Nigeria so why in the world do you think Twitter with a poor market value of a meager $56 billion and a rental office and eleven ghost workers in ghana is better than you?

I still don't get it, some Nigerians need so serious psychiatric evaluation.

They don't like the truth, where is the truth in this post? u beat a child and the child started crying u said he is wicked for crying. That the good breeze of bad administration is reaching u doesn't mean it reaching every other person. Nigerians are demarketing their country openly as u said and things are like this, imagine when they start singing songs of praise for the likes of lai Mohammed, may be a family of 3 would share a cup of garri and call it a day

number of users in Nigeria doesn't matter, it's the internet. It can be situated on the sahara desert if they want.
I'm Nigerian, but Ghana is a better choice if you'd ask me. It's more peaceful and business conducive.

Sadly, they will still come here to attack you and the minister. We don’t like the truth in Nigeria in as much as it does not speak to our biases.

Guys, let's do a reverse engineering of the whole situation and simulate what would have being if Nigeria had not been demarket-ed notwithstanding the realities that suggests the opposite.

Let's imagine that BH is killing like they're doing. Bandits and kidnappers are having a field day just like it's happening. Herdsmen are going about threatening the peace of their host communities. SARS continued their extra judicial killings unchecked and the whole country is as tensed as it is currently due to all the anti-people policies of the present day administration.... increasing the pump price of allied crude products and doing same with electricity tariffs at a time when the citizens are still counting their losses from the after effect of a global pandemic.

Now, amidst all the aforementioned, you guys along with Lai Muhammed are saying Nigerians and the media houses therein should not mention anything relating to them and instead, say the opposite.

Like, we're getting loan from China to construct railway that our grandchildren will enjoy albeit a huge debt burden.

Like, our military just took delivery of some world war II fighter jets that will be used to crush BH that have survived 3 army Chief of Staffs and very much on course to surviving many more....

Like saying Nigeria is the best place on earth with the good "ease of doing business" ratings...bcuz we now have 24/7 uninterrupted power, good road networks and so on, and have enjoyed same since the last decade.

On the contrary, we all know that this is unethical journalism.

For the citizens....you can't flog a child and not expect him/her to cry. We couldn't have been put to so much suffering by the people who were supposed to serve us and expect us not to call them out.

Right to demonstrate or protest peacefully is one of the best selling point of democracy over any other form of government but ask yourself, were the protesters of Endsars not peaceful until the paid thugs were sent out to discredit the protest? Has the government or police on their part mentioned anything about all the videos of paid thugs caught on cameras across the country?

Be very honest with yourself in answering these:

If you were the CEO of Twitter, would you have relied solely on information from mainstream media to decide where you'd situate your business's HQ?

And what makes you think he will be so dumb to fall for the white elephant pictures of the country if your type of stories about Nigeria is what we have on the internet while the reality on ground is what it is currently?

Do we really have freedom of speech in Nigeria? Case in hand, one of the aids of the Kano State governor that was sacked and taken into detention by the DSS, and shortly after his release, he fled the country (that's a northerner. What would have been if he were to be an Igbo or Yoruba man)?

Remember, this is a country that just woke up on a certain day and outlawed the use of crypto currency in the country and her currency is gradually becoming the weakest on the continent with so much shades of unpredictability in governance.

1. Which profits are you talking about that are gonna stay in Nigeria? There's a reason Nigeria didn't have a mall shopping experience before Shoprite, your business people just don't have the knack for it and your population will just go there to take selfies, but in a more decaying environment.

2. Facebook is Headquartered in South Africa, so is Amazon and Microsoft Data Centres in Johannesburg and Cape Town. What you'll soon have is a small rented Facebook office just like the one you are describing for Ghana's Twitter. Your Google and Microsoft offers are shared between Nigeria and Kenya (co-hosting), so that Nairobi can hold your hand throughout everything. That's a clear sign of lack of confidence in your infrastructure and human resources.

3. You keep repeating this flawed statement that Nigeria secured more tech investment than SA in just one month, but that's because there was a single huge investment into one company, Flubberwave or something. The same happened in SA and Kenya over the years, dwarfing investment into Nigeria, like when Microsoft invested $30 billion into SA a few years ago for the Data Centres - it's like rotating chairs. So don't try fooling people.
[/s]

He said Microsoft has set up customer support centre in Nigeria, which currently employs over 1,000 Nigerians who are serving West African market and beyond as well as the establishment of the African Development Centre to train manpower in Nigeria,

https://www.ncc.gov.ng/media-centre/news-headlines/707-ncc-charges-microsoft-to-deepen-presence-in-nigeria-with-data-centre-infrastructures

This is the problem with you people, you always go to other countries to tell us about how they are better than your own country and how they have this and that when in fact your own country is doing much much better.

The Microsoft data center narrative is your own and one man's personal opinion, Microsoft is present in Nigeria in a big way regardless of what they are doing in South Africa.

Over 1, 000 Nigerians are employed by Microsoft so of what relevance is whatever they are doing in SA? You are not making any sense.

Also, your opinion about Nigerians and mall culture is just your own opinion because Nigerians love the malls including me if you don't that's your own personal issues, but don't speak for Nigerians, speak for yourself.

When we did not have anything like Shoprite, people like you cry, yell and moan about how Nigeria is bad and behind, now that we have ShopRite that's even now owned by a Nigerian, you still have issues with it.

People like you don't wish Nigeria well and even if Nigeria is home to all the global entities in the world, people like you still won't stop wailing and bothering us with your nonsense.

Is Microsoft in Ghana? Are 1,000 people in Ghana employed by Microsoft and if not, should the people of Ghana go and commit suicide because Microsoft is in Nigeria and they hired 1,000 Nigerians instead of Ghana?

It's just too hard to stomach that these low-quality and rubbish ramblings are coming from grown men.

A Nigerian is now the owner of ShopRite, meaning that massive shopping outlet now belongs to Nigeria and all profits now stay in Nigeria, not South Africa.

Facebook and Google have more users and they have more power, more money, more influence and more reach than small Twitter and having a rental office in Ghana does increase their user number by 1, not a single user.

Twitter and one twitter office in Ghana mean nothing to us, they are not even anywhere close to the top 50 TECH companies in Africa and Nigeria remains at the top, number 1.

Now, when you are at the top, when your country is the top and the main tech investment destination in Africa and when your own country collected more investment money in one month than what South Africa and Kenya collected in the whole of 2020 so shouldn't you be happy for your country and how doesn't that mean Ghana that is at the bottom better than your own country because of a meaningless and valueless office in Ghana?

Where is the sense in this kind of basement mentality and thinking?

You people need to get real and stop this silliness because it's shameful, it's inferiority complex, it's thinking that the countries that are beneath you are actually better than you when in fact they are not you are better.

The countries remained unchanged on Partech’s top five as Nigeria remained the VC’s top destination with $307 million

How many time did you see mass killings in Ghana?

How many times did Ghana military burn down a whole community because they kill a soldier?

How many oil wells do Ghana have and they still live better than us?

South Africa’s Teraco eyes data centres in Nigeria and Kenya
By David Whitehouse
Posted on Monday, 22 February 2021 20:28

Banks are finding it harder to justify the cost of an in-house data centre. REUTERS/Afolabi Sotunde
Teraco Data Environments, Africa’s largest data centre provider, is considering expanding to Nigeria and Kenya, CEO Jan Hnizdo tells The Africa Report.

The company could create data centres of between 1MW and 4MW in those countries, Hnizdo says from Johannesburg. Nigeria and Kenya have the liberalised telecoms sectors that data centres need, he adds.
