Shikena: So, when the Govt says something CANDIDLY, l should not believe the Govt but l should believe an Anonymous Authority of Nairaland, when you could not even provide a sound argument or basis or link for your assertion? Naaah, you should do better than that. The Govt has goofed, this arrangement is a disaster-waiting-to-happen (I hope Wagons dont Collide on one of those occasions when "Train and Tram" are juggling for right of way on the same track!). That arrangement is INSANE and should be jettisoned. Train and Light Rails /Trams should never be on the same Track, Never. |

Some people are watching with envy and are already thinking of how to start a farce protest so they can have an excuse to burn the edifices to the ground. |

We should cultivate the habit of praising God whenever we see good
things like this. Remember non of the governor is using his family money
to do the projects. Is still public fund been used whether Lagos or Abia or
Adamawa or Benue or Rivers or Kano. Likewise,we should appreciate God
on behalf of the working governor Lagos State rather than criticizing him
or his predecessors who have done their marvelously well by laying good
foundations unlike yours. Basically, because your own governor couldn't
achieve 5% of a laudable project like this in your state. Don't worry holy
spirit will persuade, minister, compel and direct your own governor to
have a change of mind. |

dam4sam:Your position is sound for argument sake but this is rail transportation project not a court of law or a classroom where everything relies on the strength of your argument and rhetoric. When operations start, we are going to know if the statement was just a semantic disconnect between the field guys and the politicians. No need getting so worked up, we survived without functional rail system for ages but we won't let them off easy if they goofed |

plaindealer:He actually has a point but should know that it's most likely a case of miscommunication, not uncommon with our people. The real engineers won't make such mistake, anyone with any form of field experience won't get worked up over this. |

This is great. They have broken the project down into phases to avoid the many mistakes made with the blue line project (lessons learned). This is one of my best threads on NL in 2021. Lagos leads, others follow. We are not there yet, but we are on our way. God bless Lagos 1 Like 1 Share |

iamdapsyj: I can understand your pessimism and I'd have shared same view with you if not that I kinda have a better understanding of the funding plans for the projects. The govt isn't doing enough in terms of transparency to lay out the funding plans for the completion of these projects that's why folks who aren't in the know are concluding it won't be completed as scheduled. |

Ajibel: The won't lay out the funding plans because they know that majority if not all of their projects are inflated. You see my friend, that is what we are talking about. The funding plans are shrouded with secrecy for a reason you know. |

Shikena: What's sound about his dumb argument SMH. Like you pointed, things can only go wrong if the communication center/control room fail in its duty, a situation which would also cause trouble(s) even if the lightrail system runs on a dedicated lines throughout its trip to and fro point A and B. Besides, he's got to go through the details of the setup before turning himself to a fairytale prophet-of-doom. The tracks have four lines of which two are dedicated for outward movements while the other two are dedicated to inward movements. What this means is that the train and the tram could move around the same time without damage with them reporting at the same station on different lines. And mind you, the link into Ikeja and the downward one down to Oyingbo/Iddo are lines specifically being constructed by Lagos state for only the light rail. And lastly, even in Europe and the USA that we classified as advance and organized, rail lines crossed and/or shares ROW at some point. So why's he getting headaches over event he mightn't be directly affected by. With the number of people coming down to the island from Agbado on a daily basis, this is about another grand decision from the governor. May God bless him. And may God continue to bless Lagos state. 1 Like |
