Here is a strange story of unfathomable wickedness fuelled by deep hate and carried out through the use of military rank.

Major General Gabriel Ede Ode from Benue State lost a brother, Steven Iganga Ode on 25th February, 2021. He and his brothers saw an opportunity in the death of their brother to punish the wife of the deceased brother, her mother and son so they immediately accused them of having killed their brother.

Strangely, Major General Gabriel Ede Ode proceeded to launch his newly completed hotel at Oju LGA of Benue State on 27th February, 2021, just two days after the death of his brother!

Before Mr Steven Iganga Ode died, he was estranged and living in a compound shared by his brothers at Makurdi (his wife moved out of his house and out of an abusive marriage and returned to join her mother in the village at Udegi, Ito, Obi LGA, Benue State).

The last time she saw her husband alive, he was hale and hearty and in company of his siblings during an altercation in an army base at Makurdi. This was on 21st February, 2021. It also happened to be the very day she left his house. He died four days afterwards.

The family of the deceased did not inform her of her husband's death until she saw policemen and plain clothes soldiers on 2nd March, 2021 at her family compound. They picked her, her mother and her first son to Makurdi for questioning but they were detained instead without being placed under arrest.

She has never been liked by her deceased husband's family who saw her as too independent and frank. When Mr Steven Iganga Ode was alive, his family has always tried to turn him against his wife. They have always been intrusive in his marriage, trying to control him by telling him how to treat his wife. This made him to be torn between his wife and his brothers leading him to excessive drinking and nagging.

Now she is being blamed for his death along with her mother who never even knew his current residence. They alleged their brother was beaten to stupor by the three accused individuals and he died afterwards. This is a huge lie from the pith of hell and the police shamelessly adopted it without carrying out their own investigation because a major general is involved.

The accused individuals are currently in remand at the Makurdi prison facility. They have been granted bail but the ongoing strike action by judiciary staff union is delaying their freedom.

The Second Day of March, 2021 - A Tribute to Mrs Christiana Agnes Onah - The Innocent Grandmother

It was such a radiant and blessed day
Because nothing given of the Lord is cursed
Until the accuser chose it for his own cruel purpose
And all glory of the Second Day of March was darkened

It was darkened by the arrival of policemen
Because using the police provides legitimacy
Until the accuser could have his fill of wickedness
And the innocent grandmother was taken to Makurdi

It was from Udegi Ito that she was taken
Because she was to be detained in Makurdi
Until the accuser perfected his plot to cause pain
And she was locked away with no guilt on her hands

It was with her children she was locked away
Because they are victims of deep malice and hate
Until the accuser has satisfied his ego as a big man
And he left them to the police with a malicious accusation

It was a grievous accusation he hung on them
Because he stopped seeing them as human beings so
Until the accuser sees them hang because Steven Ode died
And he awaits the outcome of his plot but the Almighty watches

They are all walking free on bail and Mrs Christiana Agnes Onah has been declared innocent and acquitted. Next hearing for Mrs Anthonia and Mr Martin is 1st March, 2022. God reigns!
