Don't get it twisted. The UK, because they are not viewing events through ethnocentric lenses, will not join Nigerians judging anyone.

Northerners who are genuine victims of terror and banditry will get Asylum if they can prove their case of persecution that is endangering their lives.

We should all rise above ethnocentric limitation and see the big picture. It is the Nigerian government the UK government has a problem with for how our FG appears to openly abet terror and banditry rather than move decisively always to protect Nigeria and deal ruthlessly with terrorists, rapist, looters, kidnappers and bandits.

Why coming to terms now with what Nnamdi Kanu was crying against over the years and you guys denied it and branded him a terrorist? Have you come to agree that the Fulani led Government is the terrorist? The North you are holding brief for has never cried out one day condemning the bloody acts of their brothers in government. They kept mute enjoying the whole scenario that unfolds, praying for the success of the islamisation and fulanisation agenda.
I challenge them to come out openly and pronounce their brother a terrorist if they are interested in the asylum offered by the UK.

You and your over sabi driven by mindless hatred of the North. So you think the Brits are like you to be arbitrary and biased in their decision-making?

It is preposterous for you to suggest Britain would reject all Northerners because they are seen as supporting the likes of Pantami. Rubbish. Each case is viewed on it's own merit meaning many genuine Northerners would qualify if they only know how to apply for amnesty and protection against persecution.

As much as you want them to, the West cannot openly discrimate sentimentally and hatefully as you do.

So why did the west choose IPOB for the amnesty after all the killings in the north..

Stop forming kno it all..

Everyone knows Northerners re sympathetic to what is killing them so no one cares

Nigerians need to be mature and pragmatic right now. Not egoistic and arrogant. It is not a case of the UK government "supporting" IPOB but the reality that no one will be able to support the Nigerian government much longer because it is becoming impossible to view our FG as anything other than complicit and compromised over the insecurity ravaging Nigeria.

In that scenario, everyone against the Nigerian government therefore will be seen as agitating against oppression and for survival.

Look at the big picture, beyond IPOB, to understand that this is not about Kanu and his crew. The UK will likely do same for Igboho's crew or any other group who want to leave Nigeria on the ground that the FG has made the union of Nigeria untenable. In international diplomacy, the call for secession by groups in Nigeria will now begin to seem legitimate because it is clear the FG is prosecuting a one-sided challenge against terror and banditry.
God bless you! This present administration has nail it's own coffin - from Endsars(human right abuse), Disregard for federal character(Government of non-inclusive), harboring a minister on terror watch, proscrbing iPob but holding forte for killer herdsmen. Are all prove of this Government running an ethno-religious agenda.

Stop fooling yourself because you hate the North. Of course there is cynicism towards the North but Northerners with genuine and meritorious cases of persecution will not be rejected if they came forward. That is my point.

I am personally not a mouthpiece of the North and remain critical of the antics of their leaders who I feel cause the problems only to then be pretending to be looking for solution.

Nonetheless, this development is no win for IPOB or the south. It is tribute to Buhari's terrible and obviously compromised leadership in terms of securing Nigerian lives and property plus protecting the territorial integrity of our nation.

It is this same Buhari that David Cameron and Obama bullied GEJ into calling to concede victory in the 2015 polls because, at the time, they believed Buhari would bring change to Nigeria as President as many of us did.

The West don't love or hate anyone permanently. Their foreign policy is reactionary, adaptible and fluid. It is not rigid or static as the mind of many Nigerians is. My point is that you should not get carried away with the thought the UK especially loves IPOB or what they stand for. The case is that they just hate what Buhari and his government is doing more.

Correct. This is what I am trying to tell some folks. Buhari has shown enough, from overtly nepotistic appointment to many other actions/inactions, to now be cast adrift by the West.

People forget this same Buhari was the darling of the West in 2014. Same West that could not wait for him to take over in 2015 because GEJ had been so terrible.

The UK intelligence agencies know far more than what Nigerians do. To openly declare they will consider Asylum for a group proscribed in Nigeria simply means the Buhari government is now persona non grata to Britain.

Nigerians are emotional but folks should mark my words that Britain will be indifferent to Nigeria, till Buhari leaves, because of the belief our President is a complicit, openly biased and compromised leader who is not doing what should be done to protect all Nigerians.

Till another President emerges in 2023, and depending on who it is, the West in general will be lukewarm and even passive-aggressive towards the government of Buhari they have now written off. Lai Mohammed can shout himself hoarse if he wants. Won't make any difference.

Myopic reasoning....how can you expect a country that depends in other countries in everything to sanction amighty UK....
The day FG take such decision will Mark the end of Nigeria because UK will do their possible best to distablize Nigeria...
