Bullshit, a Radiographer with a masters on image interpretation knows a whole lot on image interpretation when compared to a radiologist. In UK and USA, Radiographers with masters on Image interpretation are allowed to interpret films so this your analogy is dead on arrival. In private organisations, a Radiographer earns more than a pharmacist. You aren't in the medical field it's very obvious

This is half truth. No matter your degree in radiography, whether Masters or Doctorate, legally any imaging report must have a supervising doctors signature (a radiologist) before it is relied upon for diagnosis. What the people you mentioned do is to assist the radiologist in certain areas but they must be supervised.

Where did you see pharmacy in the quote you mentioned.
Radiologist do not do any of those listed imaging procedures, they are all done by radiographers with additional training.
Your response shows that you don’t know anything about the Radiology profession
no a radiologist must be a doctor first with extra specialization on radiology

What is the point of the information you provided with regards to our discussion? It looks like I have nothing to learn from you.

Let me give you a hint, anytime you see the suffix -gist attached to the name of a medical specialty just assume that the individual is doctor.

Pulmonologist
Cardiologist
Endocrinologist
Gynecologists'
Radiologist
Pedologist
Pediatrist
Cosmetologist

Dropping the same similar responses to you cos you obviously need help..... I am not the cause of your frustration..... Pele o!
How many of some of this medicines and medical equipments such as hand gloves , x-ray machines, and even common infrared thermometer and the likes are being produced and marketed by doctors and pharmacist
90% percent of importers of medical supplies from Malaysia are business people.... If the pharmacists go to import and sell in wholesalesale prices who will do the prescription for the masses.
Common sense is actually not common.
Go Google "health investments and the likes" .
How many registered and certified pharmacist can even open one pharmacy.
For your information, business inclined people open this businesses and employ this pharmacist.... And if I decide to pursue my interests in prescription how does that make me a quack.
Was they any mention of me saying I give prescriptions....but you will not comprehend when I say I have adept knowledge of administrations of drugs.
If only you asked how I knew
Took my time to school you cos you obviously are adamant.
In sane clime, you'd have been arrested before completing the statement that you have in-depth knowledge of prescriptions of drugs for children and adults? For real? you're not a trained Medical doctor or atleast a pharmacists! and you're prescribing drugs. I pity your clients but hope is OTC drugs to begin because you may been causing harm to people in guise of help..Do you know most of these drugs have terrible complications? Do you know Chloramphenicol can destroy your bone marrow totally if not used under the tutelage of a trained doctor. Now, I've schooled you....Because Nigeria is a lawless country , pls don't prescribe outside over the OTC drugs.

It's confirmed!
You lack total understanding.
Ignorant champion!

Yes I have the knowledge of prescription for both adult and children be kind to point out where I stated that I prescribe drugs to people.... (Make sure you go bring it up or you and your generation will be doomed for life trust me).
Simply shows you failed to read the part where i advised the OP to make sure he gets registered and certified instead you are looking for mentions to attack.

Funny how I have witnessed mistakes from qualified doctors who write some of this prescriptions but is been corrected by the pharmacist or someone who atleast have some kind of experience.
You need to visit the health sector sometimes before dishing out rubbish.

Just as the lab scientists do the figuring out.... everybody is important including the business people in Idumota market and the investors going to India and Malaysia to import .

Incase you don't know these pharmacist go to the market to go pick it up before arranging it on their shelves....it didn't fly to get there... The people who do this importations are the reason we have them in the pharmacies in the first place.... You should be saying thank you for this free lectures... Instead of acting like a confused being.

F*ck off!

Radiography is still a new course as a degree in Nigeria so I can let this slide. Reality will hit the Profession hard soon when Universities become more greedy.
This your "Highest paid medical personnel" is a hoax

Radiologist is private sectors don't earn more than radiographers because radiographers are the ones doing the actual work. A radiologist may even report films from the comfort of his home which is why they are not paid much.

Please never you again call Pharmacy ordinary chemist shop. It is bad and and it further proves your Ignorance.
A Pharmacist cannot sell his License. Why would he? When you can be calmly collecting your cash monthly. I am not a Pharmacist Oga. In my Area there's a Big Pharmaceutical store that does whole sales and Retail. Do you know how much people patronize them?
Mr Man Radiography is "Image Technology". You don't even consult them for treatment only to provide clearer images. It is of recent they started doing Diagnostic Radiography. If they diagnose, a Radiologist must review and Sign.
You can't go to the Radiographer. You go to see a Doctor. You can go to see a Pharmacist.
No matter how you belittle Pharmacy, in the world they're far far Renowned and knowledgeable.
To test you, Type Renowned Pharmacist and also Type Renowned Radiographer. Tell me what you want to use a Radiographer to do in rural outreach.
Radiographers are in shortage in the UK but time will come when Foreign Radiographers won't be needed.

Oga I will know more in radiology than you.

Radioisotopes have no expiry date. They are used for radio imaging like xray. Works with the half life.

When swallowed, after the half life, half of it will disintegrate, release energy in as photons. This energy can be captured by an xray machine.

Average salary of a Radiographer in the US is $60 while that of a Pharmacist is $100k

In terms of educational qualification Radiography is a two year program with Associate degree while Pharmcy is a doctorate degree program

There are more job opportunities in pharmacy than it is in radiography

In Nigeria, it’s easy to start your own pharmacy but you need a lot of money to buy equipment for an imaging center except you only want to do ultrasound scan and plain film X-ray.

Don't these kids throwing advices here.
Most of them are not even in the medical field to know what's obtainable.

If he reads Radiography and stays in Nigeria, hunger may finish him off, as government jobs are not readily available and even when they come, the salary won't be enough to cater for his basic needs.
And he may not have the capital to start a good diagnostic centre.

He would be left at the mercy of private hospitals and diagnostic centres where he would be paid between 30,000 to 60,000 naira per month.
Then, he would learn his lessons.

Stop saying what you don't know bro.
Doctors only interpret the result. Pharmacists sell the barium. If it's other isotopes, your security clearance level won't even allow you to see the isotope in the first place.

Every big hospital such as National Hospital have a Nuclear Medicine unit. Others have radiology centers where radioisotopes are kept in close monitoring. The administration of it is purely done there. You don't sell radioisotopes used for medical reasons in the pharmacy.

Since you know close to nothing about the working of radioisotopes in the human body, what stops you from selling your normal drugs and forget about this competition. Or is the only one you know the barium chalk?

Because from your response above, it is clear you don't even know what's happening after taking Barium chalk.

Your knowledge of the nuclear medicine is very low and is inadequate to indulge me in this discussion. During my training, we were told not to specialize or seek a career in the nuclear medicine as doctors and pharmacists usually claim to lead the medical field. Only one person specialized in nuclear medicine and another whom we had partly same lectures (he didn't even take specialized courses with us) is currently doing his internship in Austria (Vienna) in the nuclear medicine unit of a hospital. I would have done my masters thesis in the Nuclear Medicine unit of National Hospital Abuja (that was the last option, I was already communicating with the director who is a medical doctor but had further studies in the nuclear medicine field in South Africa).

During my training, we explored advanced ways of administering radioisotopes to patients. For cancer treatment, we studied in advanced nuclear technology ways to make measurements to reach the exact target depending on what we want to achieve. There's something called Matrix of an linear accelerator (Which is used in transporting radioisotopes from it's production to the deposit site.

I have attached some of the simulations we did in studying the propagation of rays in the human body and the various interactions that exist.

I won't share more, but for you to know what I know about radioisotopes as used in proton therapy, x-ray, and imaging, etc (I don't know much self in this area), it will take you some time bro.

Now tell me who needs to be a janitor in nuclear medicine unit of any hospital?

Nice ọne,
But All in all your scope of practice isn't beyond the research and simulation as said you can't administer radio is topes if you ain't a physician or pharmacist majorly you can't even compound the radiopharmaceuticals ،talkless of dispensing them .....

Stick to your research and simulations not on real life patients. I LEAVE YOU FOR THE RADIOGRAPHERS AND RADIOLOGIST TO HANDLE.
Let take a case study of administration radioisotopes on a patient with a damage on the parietal portion of the skull, this causing an ischemic attack and reduced perfusion in the cerebral circulation.
You are to administer perform a radioimaging thus that you expose his metencephalon locating the portion for smell motor function.
It is a case study not a. Clinical scenario can you?.
No because you lack the knowledge of Human anatomy and physiology to do so .

Bullshit, focus on the discussion at hand and stop spewing shits about radiography related words you just saw online. The truth still remain that in private establishments, radiologists in Nigeria don't earn much. Most of them earn by per film interpreted basis. In fact it's rare to see a radiologist that works full time in a private centre. Most of them are part time workers. As for the special exams, most Radiographers are the ones doing it in private centres. I know radiographers that do lumbar puncture very well.
