Singer Reekado Banks has cried out over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, saying the country is on the brink of a civil war, Igbere TV reports.

The 27-year-old former Mavin Records artiste stated this in a Twitter post on Monday.

According to him, politicians are enabling the situation in the country because they thrive in havoc and division.

He, however, called on everyday citizens to promote peace because they will be most affected if the situation degenerates further.

Nigeria is on the brink of a civil war & the politicians are doing everything to enable it because their schemes thrive in havoc & when there’s a divide. As citizens, who will suffer the most from this impending disaster, we must do everything within our power to champion peace.

Reekado Banks’ tweet comes amid bandits attack on individuals and public institution across the country.

At least five policemen were killed on Monday during an attack on their station in Imo State and two more abducted students of Greenfield University in Kaduna State were found dead, days after the bodies of three of their colleagues were discovered.

National Assembly should as matter of urgency commence work on RESTRUCTURING Nigeria through amendment of the vital parts of the constitution. The failure to respond before now led the nation into this raging regional self-determination chaos.

Any further delay in acting will most likely lead to any of the following:
1. Military interrupting the democracy to take over government in order to restore order, of course, with far reaching consequences. They are losing too many men.
2. Negligently allowing the regions to slip into the hands of hot-headed separatists who, so far, have not shown clear governance and developmental plan.

However, acting on restructuring NOW will empower the current of political class and intelligentsia in different geopolitical regions to assume control with little destructive disruption with the armed forces restoring order. I suggest the following actions immediately:

-- NASS leadership should immediately wake members up from ongoing slumber to do their duties.
-- Set up a joint NASS Restucturing Committee
-- Meet and convince Nigerian Governors' Forum to set up regional committees covering broad interests to negotiate transfer of critical things on exclusive list to concurrent list and other federations issues.
-- Amend the constitution to reflect the new political realities of Nigeria.
-- We have Switzerland, Canada, US, etc federation models to look at in order to adopt what is best for us given our peculiarities.

Northern Nigerian legislators and politicians should note that any attempt to frustrate immediate restructuring of the Nigeria at this critical point will bring nothing but doom.

There won't be any civil war,but lawlessness and breakdown of law and order has been enshrined by this government.
Guerilla, bandits and unknown gunmen attacks are not features of a civil war because the way things are going each region may amicably accede to the request of others if they decide to secede as an end to the breakdown of law and order.
Unlike 1966,I don't forsee any region being in support of fighting any civil war to keep Nigeria one.

Insecurity in Nigeria - Battle of Regional Supremacy

Season 1 Episode 10

SE - Unknown Gunmen, ESN or IPOB
NW - Bandits
NE - Boko Haram & ISWAP
NC - Miyetti Allah
SW - Fulani Herdsmen
SS - Militants or Ex-Agitators

Modified
Imagine for a sec that APC decides to fulfill 1 of its crucial campaign promise to Nigerians by asking or mandating @MBuhari to tackle the nation's current security menace from the battle - FRONT heads-on. Which region would he start with?

A weak C-In-C leads ----- Low morale/weak Military
A weak Military ----- defenseless Citizens/territory
Defenseless Citizens/territory ---- Anarchy/Self-help
Self-help ----- Survival of the fittest
Survival of the fittest ------ OPPRESSION

OPPRESSION brings JUDGEMENT and DEATH

It won't be a civil war, but a guerilla style fight against the center by various segments of the country. Once enough losses have been taken by the center, they will have to come to the table with dialogue.

That is how things happen in Africa, we don't dialogue until both sides have demonstrated a vast capacity for violence.
