Former President of the US Barack Obama has announced the death of family dog, Bo, that died after battling with cancer

The black and white Portuguese water dog was a gift for Barack  and Michelle’s daughters as they settled into the White House in 2009.

The family of Obama have paid tribute to the dog. In his Twitter handle, Obama wrote,

"Today our family lost a true friend and loyal companion. For more than a decade, Bo was a constant, gentle presence in our lives—happy to see us on our good days, our bad days, and everyday in between.

"He tolerated all the fuss that came with being in the White House, had a big bark but no bite, loved to jump in the pool in the summer, was unflappable with children, lived for scraps around the dinner table, and had great hair.

"He was exactly what we needed and more than we ever expected. We will miss him dearly."

That dog was really lucky to be a member of Obama's family. Some nigerian youths would really appreciate to have that dog's position in life.

The dog was given to Obama's daughters while he was the President. So the dog was the first dog then because the dog was living in the white house
