daily_trust Daily Trust Low turn out in the Northern states. This is expected. In one of the polling stations in yobe the youths refused to come out saying the winner is already known weather they voted or not. Boycott and low turn out. High turn out reported in Nnewi North |

Female corper arrested with already thumb-printed ballot papers in Ibokun,Osun, Nigeria The Governorship and state House of assembly election in Nigeria scheduled for 26th April 2011, the accreditation of voters is expected to take place between 8am and 12 noon. while the voting is expected to start after 12 Noon. But as at 10;17 am, 50 already thumb-printed ballot papers found on a Youth Corps member serving as Presiding Officer at the Local Authority Grammar School, Ibokun, Obokun Local Government, Osun State. She was arrested and handcuffed by policemen before being taken away for further interrogation. The suspects named Mrs. Dupe Obembe is one of the corps members participating in the mandatory national service She told security agents that 20 Presiding Officers were given the ballot papers already thumb-printed for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She claimed further that other presiding officers in the ballot papers racket were located in other parts of Obokun Local Government including Esa-Oke. Governor Ikedi Ohakim has commenced his usual prowling of voting centres. He has left OsuOwerri voting centre in Okohia, isiala mbano of Imo state and has driven in full convoy to Owerri, the state capital. with a full compliment of security men. Where is the fairness in this exercise? |

Goodluck has now gotten what he want ie a well masterminded veneer of credibility to the Presidential elections, now its time for his dogs to do what they do best. No more vote rigging at collation centres, this is all out ballot-box snatching by Goodluck's best friends ie Ohakim, Uduaghan, Sylva and the rest. |

Akwa Ibom Units 1-7 of Ward 5 in Itu local governmet all ballot papers were snatched by gun-wielding thugs who fired int o the air before making their escape; In Unit Ward 8 of Ini Local Government, the voting materials were snatched before voting started.
