This isn't about the Sultan.

It is either the chief imam is trying to start a controversy or he is actually ignorant. If you started Ramadan the wrong date, it doesn't exclude you from finishing it right.

Your headline is misleading abeg. You made it seem like it was all Ibadan resident that observed eid prayer on Wednesday.

According to Islamic doctrine, moon must be sighted by at least two people before the Amir (leader) of the Muslim announces the end of the month of Ramadan. In case of Nigeria, the sultan of sokoto is the amir (leader) of the Muslim. And it is mandatory that all true believers follow his directives.

Let me get this straight, Islam as a religion is beyond any form of nepotism and tribalistic subjectivities.

Tell your Islamic terrorist brothers to leave the bushes, go home and fork their wives.
The money being spent fighting Islamic terrorism would've been put to better use.

Rubbish headline and false narrative. The Sultan doesn't have the power to dictate to anyone. He can advise but no one is compelled to take directives from him , so this headline is misleading and another attempt by the unknown gunmen aka IPIG terrorists monkeys fake news outlet to feed their gullible followers.

Rubbish trash.

This headline is all shades wrong.

The imaam is just defying known Islamic rule.

So, a northern Muslim must dictate to a southern Muslim?

Are you saying southern Muslims are second class Muslims?

This is not about DICTATION, this is about Deen. Greater than ANYONE. If sultan err we wouldn't hesitate to correct or unfollow him. He's very right

THOSE PEOPLE WHO OBSERVE THEIRS YESTERDAY erred, they transgressed and they're liable to consecutive 60 days of fasting as kaffaara for eating on the day of Ramadan.

Very wrong. They did not sight the crescent moon, they started earlier. That's why they break in the day of Ramadan. They erred.

Besides, your village Imam can't declare Eid and deviate from the rest of the world. Sultan is the Amirul Mu'min, ALL MUSLIM MUST FOLLOW IS DIRECTIVE as long as he hasn't err.
tamdun:

Actually, the sultan cannot dictate to any Muslim, we just like to play politics with everything in nig, ur village chief is enough to declare sallah (but they must follow the principles of Islam)

We pay no allegiance to ANYONE or any place, we pay Allegiance to HOLY PROPHET and those who follows his path. You all need to cure your ignorance about Islam.

Besides, You are having imaginary pity for Yoruba Muslim yet you still greet us in Hausa language (Barka de wallah) undecided

You either greet all and sundry irrespective of ethnic with one Islamic greetings which is the Eidu Mubaarak

Or you greet Yorubas solely with Aku odun

The moon is not a lunar deity. The use of the crescent moon as a symbol of Islam is for lunar calendar purposes. If you know what is called An orbital mechanics to determined time in the spatial dimensions, you won't be spewing such irritations.
