Kudos to the herders for the efforts of finding grazing land for their cattles.But the government hasn't made tangible solutions to cattle rearing. Research into this nomad farming is required urgently. Herders want better life, health, school, house. They too are fed up with roaming about the forest. How much are they paid for their labour? Survey must be carried out to find out problems confronting the herders and suggested solutions

But how is acquiring a group or private ranches a long term project?what does is take them to buy acres of land,dig boreholes or hire bulldozer to dig ponds build shields & shelters,import grasses from Brazil cultivate & start a peaceful ranching business.if I as an individual want to rear cattle that is what I will do.

This is what the Governors of the north ought to do for their FULANI brothers...provide FREE land to them if that's what they desire but NOT FORCE people of the south to give them FREE land for grazing. The question I have for these FULANI TERRORISTS is this: Have the governors of the Northern states provided FREE land and spaces in their various states to business owners from the south? The answer is ABSOLUTELY NO! These southern businesses either bought the land or pay rent for their spaces. So, why would the FULANIS want something for FREE? Do the MONEY they make go INTO FEDERATION ACCOUNT or INDIVIDUAL? Their cattle rearing businesses are all private enterprises. Therefore, they MUST pay just like Southern business owners in the North for what they want including grazing lands and all that. Nothing is FREE.

What a turn of event ?. If not now, I always see everybody from the North as Hausas. Never knew that among them are Kanuris, Tivs, Nupes, Jukum, Berom,etc....
Infact the Fulanis are foreigners migrated from Chad, Mali, Sudan....
Just because we made a mistake voted one of them as a President, instead of them to remain peaceful as they are before, they became drunkard and started misbehaving with their host. Now, they have exposed themselves and their evil plans are well known. I pray that they will not become endangered species when their Chief Herdsman leaves Aso Rock because he also did not handle the issues properly while on the throne. The Hausas may also ask them to move back to their country. Hmmmm I'm sorry for what the future holds for the Fulanis.
If only they had removed the bad eggs among themselves and stopped the influx of bad ones that infiltrated them that becomes bandits, kidnappers, rapists, may be I won't know them as foreigners.

2. The grazing reserves should be reviewed. Those lands has got owners and villagers farming on them. For the government to grab these lands and give to you fulanis, is impossible, except the reserves in your core north.

maybe you try to read and understand before spewing trash all over. these grazing reserves like forest reserves are already in existence. what the secretary is saying is that they should be reactivated with incentives to encourage herders in the south to move to the north. I don't know you people do it. how can you hate someone you barely know? this is serious.

Leave those children of hate. What is wrong with what miyetti Allah said? They banned open grazing and Miyetti Allah said fine let our governors reactivate our grazing reserves but still they are complaining. What is their business with how the north handles the problem?
They would tell you that Cattle rearing is a private business and that government should not have business assisting them but they are comfortable with government giving loans and subsidize farm inputs to crop farmers . They see nothing wrong in government creating industrial zones and giving incentives and tax waivers to those who establish industries in the zones. They have have no problem with government building ports, airports, roads etc for citizens to use to facilitate their private business.

I am happy about the response and body language of National Secretary of MACBAN, Baba Othman Ngelzarma towards the current economic and social realities facing 'waka waka' cattle rearing in Nigeria.

The truth is that grazing lands hitherto available to farmers and herders in Southern Nigeria have shrunk due to development. So, the ban on open grazing Southern Governirs Forum has nothing to do with discrimination or hatred but merely an inevitable response to realities.

Interestingly, large expanse of lands in the Northern are begging to be used. But the Northern Governors with the exception of Ganduje are just neither responsive nor visionary about the economic opportunities which ranching could bring. This is simply because FAAC allocation is assured. That's the whole essence of the RESTRUCTURING we are clamouring for.

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) should turn the pressure and heat on Northern Governors to do the needful. They are there to solve problems like this.
