post=101819610: This is what we say about the very nature of governance in Nigeria. That everything is always a 'Government First' initiative with little input by the very people concerned. Democracy inherently is a partnership in every way. A partnership in the establishment of values and standards, a partnership about addressing challenges, an investment partnership also as in this case whereby we know for a favt that it is just impossible for the government to provide enough vehicles to move the entire people around. If things are to work well and the laws are to be obeyed promptly ans thoroughly then the people have to be involved in authoring, in creating this new initiative and investing/financing it as well. Or is the Lagos state government now in the business of road transport.... |

pejuakinab: You are talking rubbish. To the best of my understanding, education in public schools in Lagos state is still free for primary and secondary education and highly subsidized for the state-owned tertiary institutions. Have you ever witnessed an okada accident? Do you know there's a special ward for Okada accident victims in Igbobi? Have you been robbed by criminals that used Okada to smoothly perpetrate the crimes? There are a lot of trades, craft and vocations that the unskilled labour can venture into to make monies for themselves but the quest for quick money ... 1 Like |

Very good, Lagos is not for everyone, if you can not live by its rules, try the other 35 states. We will never allow these barbarians overrun Lagos, take your okada to your states. Criminals use okada for fast access, the new initiative to carry passengers to the last mile will suit Lagos megacity posture. 2 Likes |

Grayoso: Well, sorry to disappoint you but the very faulty structure that funnels all resources to the centre is the foundational reason why Lagos is 'so successful' according to you. So you will have to take the pips with the fruit. When Nigeria comes to a structurally even keel and independent economies can be created within the Federation of Nigeria then the pressure on Lagos will abate and it will become just like any other state. That is a given. Lagos is basically 'successful' because of the failure of the Nigerian state as a whole. What people troop down there to do is exploit the large urban population, that's all. Nothing more. |

Na wash Nigeria is not a land! It is a contraption, stop deceiving yourselves. What we have is Igboland, Hausaland, Ijawland, Yorubaland, Tivland, Urhoboland etc. Nigeria is an advanced fee fraud used to defraud unsuspecting ethnic nations of their God given resources. Get my joway 40,000mah powerbank can charge laptops and phone. |
