Oil production should be stopped in Nigeria for it to grow.
Oil rich Anambra hmmm. Everybody likes good things.

the ND states deserve at least a 25% derivation from those offshore fields and full control of the onshore fields... the damage shell has done there will take decades to repair

Niger Delta are really nice people. Na Nigerian military (Hausa Fulanis to be specific) na them dey sabotage the pipeline pass. People even pay them for them to allow the sabotage for a specific time to steal oil. Nigerian military personnel posted over there in collabo with those black market people are the ones responsible for this one. Goodbye Shell. Nigeria Collapsing is a sure banker!

While Nigeria keep on importing highly contaminated refined crude products from them. Forget this charade by this Dutchman. The real koko is that they have seen that the disintegration of this false contraption of a country is fast approaching than expected.

After all SHELL has been exploring for crude oil in Nigeria since oil was first discovered in large commercial quantity in Oloibiri.
Re: Shell To Divest Onshore Oil Stakes In Nigeria, Open Talks With FG by BodyChief: 4:32pm On May 19, 2021
If this talk is eventually sealed then it's a big loss to Shell but bigger loss to Niger Delta in regards to revenue and economic benefits on all sides.

Shell as a business venture cannot be blamed entirely because at some point in business analysis on income- expenditure ratio and associated risk must be seriously considered.

Niger Delta equally who bears the brunt has the right not just to life but good, quality life through the natural resources in their land and water.

Nigeria as parent host should not sit idle at the expense of the loss of lives of the people through environmental degradation while feeding fat with no sustainable, wholistic efforts for all individuals devoid of selective egocentric tendencies for their gains.

Las las we need them, they need us; let's talk more.

Guy forget that method. Enough security dey there oh. It's almost impossible. I know what I'm saying. Its very easy for security vessels to spot you. And there are no pipelines to burst.

Shell is tired of sharing oil with the massively growing network of bunkerers. It's almost an unsolvable problem. An indigenous company might be better with the onshore fields.

Before they run away, they must be made to pay back The billions of dollars they stole in this country and the billions of dollars worth of mega oil spillage in the oil producing areas..

Offshore fields belong to no state. It is known as Nigerian waters. Nobody lives there, abi them dey born anybody for sea grin?

Majority of the oil spills are caused by the Niger Delta idiots breaking piplines. Even the Niger Delta people are wicked to themselves, some of the guys behind militancy and oil theft struck lucrative deals with Shell, How much did they give their people? When a Nigerian is crying corruption, it's because he's not the one commiting it. Shell is going, now who will pump the oil for the thiefs?

SHELL IS A BLESSING TO THE NIGER DELTA REGION.

The problem is with the federal government that seems to centralised federal powers and make the people of the Niger delta region to lack social amenities.

Corruption by Niger delta leaders and federal government officials is also the problem.

you guys are not serious...

if you can't decode what the snippet from the main post below means then read my summary after the main post.

Health16:

Speaking at the company's annual general meeting, CEO Ben van Beurden said that Shell can no longer be exposed to the risk of theft and sabotage.

"We cannot solve community problems in the Niger Delta, that's for the Nigerian government perhaps to solve. We can do our best, but at some point in time, we also have to conclude that this is an exposure that doesn't fit with our risk appetite anymore," van Beurden said.

"We've drawn that conclusion, and we're now talking to the Nigerian government on the way forward."

In summary:
Only your fellow NIGERIANS can solve it...

i put nigerians in capital because BodyChief made a comment of Nigeria been the "parent host" but in truth Nigeria is not the parent host its the Ijaws ( if its in Bayelsa ) that are the parent host.... now replace NIGERIANS with IJAWS...

the major problem people like you guys have is you expect a person from a different ethnicity to help develop the infrastructure in Niger-delta region... look at Akwa-ibom most of the infrastructure was built by the state govt ( meaning people with the same ethnicity as indigenes in akwa-ibom ).. that's not how the world works..

oil spills in Nigeria can be caused by any one from any part of the country... its up to the indigenes to arrest and prosecute vandals... another problem is the oil company is owned by foreigners and not any of the indigenes..

indigenes will have more passion to improve the infrastructure of the communities.

A really Oyibo company will not tell you all the truth. There is more to this. Is it switch to renewable energy? Is it oil reserve drying up? Is it the country's component parts going their separate ways in the nearest future, with resultant anarchy? Even if it's not these, it seems there is something they are not telling us.

You are smart, this is just a smokesceen.

Codemaniacs I agree with you no less but my reason for saying Nigeria is just as the CEO said in his speech. Also knowing fully well that most of the issues has to do with insecurity which the capacity, political will and support from Federal government can go a very long way.
No doubt the direct host communities have a lot in this either for them to stay or go.
Las las na better Nigeria for all we want

You need to go on investigation in the Niger Delta. The indigenes are the one stealing and destroying their land for quick money. You send army, they'll go and collude with them at times. No gun battle, free money, win win. grin
