Just because of the promise for Vice President who is now finally a mere supervisor and inactive officer you plunged the Nation into this disaster

the way the western world called diamonds from sierra leone, liberia, Dr congo blood diamonds......

Southern Nigeria should declare cattles as Blood cattles......because lots of farmers have died, murdured in cold blood, for their cattles to grow....and they will still come and sell the same cattles to us in the south.......cant we boycott those useles cattles? Abi na by force to eat their cattles? We complain too much without taking actions.......without we buying those cattles from them...their business will crash.....as a matter of fact, lagos, oyo and ogun are the major consumers of thos Blood cattles.......

Is this modified RUGA or Ranching? But on a serious note this Garba Shehu is too amateurish and unnecessarily emotional as d official script writer of d President abi Presidency. How can an ordinary appointee talk with so much venom against a resolution of 17 elected Southern Governors. The good thing is that this puts an end to open grazing thereby endorsing it's ban by Southern Governors but here in d East we are not allocating a reserved area for herders, any one interested in cattle business should buy land and build ranch not Govt emasculating and allocating indigenous land through grabbing to d Fulanis

Not modified, it is still RUGA. The statement is so straightforward. No state in the south is taking it. Some in the middle belt will also say no. Even if something like that will be done, it can't be for Fulani alone. Every business in animal husbandry has to be involved. Each state has to do it with local people and the people with the business interests. They have been killing us because they want to force RUGA down our throats and plant Fulani everywhere in Nigeria. Brought in dead (BID). That should sink into Shehu Garba's skull.

I think state governments should build ranches for communities just as they built farm estates for poultry or piggery.
This farm estates are for their state indigenes or any well profiled Nigerian.

Well they can take their ranching to the north we in the south we are not interested in giving killers our game reserve for ranching because it will open more channel for attacks by herdsmen this time they will be backed by the law once they commit an offence as long as they return to their ranch they are safe and none can arrest them in their ranch for anything.

PRESIDENT BUHARI OKAYS DEEP ROOTED SOLUTIONS TO HERDSMEN ATTACKS, CLEARS WAY FOR RANCHING AND REVIVAL OF FOREST RESERVES

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed a strong resolve to address the conflicts of herders and farmers in a sustained and lasting manner that should lead to the emergence of a permanent solution to the frequent clashes between them, as well as the associated problem of the gun-wielding “killer herdsmen.”

The President had approved a number of specific measures to bring a permanent end to the frequent skirmishes as recommended by Alhaji Sabo Nanono, the Minister of Agriculture in a report he submitted and the President signed off on it back in April, well before the actions of the Southern Governors Forum which attempts to place a ban on open grazing and other acts of politicking intended by its signatories to demonstrate their power.

It is very clear that there was no solution offered from their resolutions to the herder-farmer clashes that have been continuing in our country for generations.

But the citizens of the southern states – indeed citizens of all states of Nigeria - have a right to expect their elected leaders and representatives to find answers to challenges of governance and rights, and not to wash their hands off hard choices by, instead, issuing bans that say: “not in my state.”

It is equally true that their announcement is of questionable legality, given the Constitutional right of all Nigerians to enjoy the same rights and freedoms within every one of our 36 states (and FCT) -regardless of the state of their birth or residence.

Fortunately, this declaration has been preempted, for whatever it is intended to achieve and Mr. President, who has rightly been worried about these problems more than any other citizen in consultation with farmers and herders alike, commissioned and approved an actionable plan of rehabilitating grazing reserves in the states, starting with those that are truly committed to the solution and compliant with stated requirements.

With veterinary clinics, water points for animals, and facilities for herders and their families including schooling - through these rehabilitated reserves, the Federal Government is making far-reaching and practical changes allowing for different communities to co-exist side-by-side: supporting farmers to till their fields, herders to rear their livestock and Nigerians everywhere to be safe.

The entire country is acutely aware of the strain the COVID-19 pandemic has taken on public finances, for both Federal and States. Still, given the pressing urgency of addressing the perennial challenges, the federal funding for the project that has been delayed is now being partly unlocked. Actual work for the full actualization of the modern reserve system in a few of the consenting states should take off in June.

Garba Shehu

Senior Special Assistant to the President

Federal government has no land in each of the 36 states.

Land is controlled by the state governors on behalf of the indigenous people ( natives of the land )

How is federal government going to acquire land without running into crisis with the original land owner or the state in question.

Is it not trouble Buhari is trying to create?

The governor Ganduje model is the best solution for the now.

Governor Ganduje told all fulani herdsmen of Nigerian origin to relocate to the north and continue their herding business in the north as there are fewer grazing land in the south.

Thank God the North has the land mass and big stick forest like Sambisa forest, whatever fed Govt is planning, let 'em start it in your region, we in the South don't have land mass, we will buy your cows and when you bring them down South you will rent a pen, rent a house, the same way spare parts dealers are doing in your northern states, by so doing growing your economy but you guys contributes nothing to our economy down south but rather killing, maiming and raping our women.

Big lie!!! I might be able to forgive those that voted the dead vultures in 2015 but repeating the same in 2019 is pure madness with no comparison.

My explanation isn't just about 2015 and 2019. It's beyond that. In 2019 the rigging was massive because of the same fact.

Stop this your unwarranted show of idiocy!
How can you be cursing others, just because they did not follow your 'bigoted decision', to vote based on tribal affiliation?

I just pity guys like you that will not let-go of this "GEJ Victimisation Mentality".
First, Everyone, including Igbos, voted for their Choice. Igbo vited for PDP and "EbeleChukwu", our Son, not minding how woeful he has performed over Six years!
SW voted for APC and Buhari was the party's Flag-bearer but you cannot accuse them of being tribal bigots.

SE voted for Jonathan, not because he was their best choice or the best material on ground (afteral, we have the likes of 'extremely Cerebral' Kingley Moghalu on the Ballot but Igbos did not vote for him).
The SE voted for Jonathan was because he is the flagbearer of PDP and he is the closest they can get to Aso Rock.
Just like the SW, the SE decided to vote En-Bloc for the PDP.
So, trying to play the 'did l not tell you card' here or pretending as if your decision was based on some "intelliegence or superior knowledge", will not fly at all.
But l agree, with hindsight, Buhari is a disaster of unimaginable proportions and the SW carries some responsibility in his emergence but it was not done out of dislike for Igbos (as Igbos were claiming that "EbeleChukwu" is an Igbo President and our Son) and the decison was taken, based on available 'information and promises' (who wont for the Restructuring APC promised? Who wont vote for Security in APC's Security Manifesto? Who wont vote for State Police?), which unfortunately, Buhari reneged on, once he became President (Sometimes l am tempted to agree that the thing we have in Aso Rock today, is not the same person that was voted for, in 2015 but only 'time' will unearth that which is still hidden)

I have even heard people with your type of mindset say they will Vote for Atiku, another Fulani, in 2023, just to spite the SW. Please do, shey it is not only Yoruba that are suffering this Buhari disaster now, infact, they suffer it less, compared to other regions but nevertheless, are suffering it too.

I read an Article not too long ago, when even the Jonathan that Igbos were (and still) rallying behind, is the one who, in a lecture he gave in the USA, made it clear that he is not of Igbo Stock, his people are not Igbos, that the SS is nit part of Biafra and that he is not in support of the creation of Biafra Nation! Imagine o!!
I will post that Article below.

So, those of you who want to dwell and die on the past, instead of focusing on the challenges ahead or who are still baying for revenge on the SW, when Fulani herdsmen are rampaging your Villages on one side and Buhari is using Alpha Jest to flatten the remainder of your people while Soldiers/Police are using Shoot-on-sight order to exterminate your people, can continue to do so.

Only a Fool will keep doing the same thing over and over again, while expecting a different outcome. undecided undecided
