Kelvin125:check if your salary can get you up 300k loan from a bank, get the loan and buy a fairly used keke. When the keke is yours, you can hustle as you like with it as you won't be suffering to pay your weekly returns to anyone. It will also help you repay the loan easily. |

It is better you join cooperative in your office sir and get loan from the cooperative to buy your keke. Hire purchase does not come with rest of mind, especially with the irregular transaportation policies in Lagos State. Cooperative loan usually come with low single digit interest rate. You can discuss with your colleagues in the cooperative when the times are difficult, provided you are known to be non-defaulter. But Hire Purchase transaction usually comes with hot money. The owners of the funds are usually impatient with the hire purchase buyer 1 Like |

Nigerians are just under pressure. There is a civil servant I know for the past 13years he has been working, and his salary is still under N80,000 a month. I shouted the other day when he told me. Nah so I receive foreign job offer and I am seeing $45 per hour. I calculated it and asked myself why I didn't leave this country years ago. |

Oga, for the sake of relative peace of mind, you better loan from co-operative and buy new Keke for yourself, then repay back the loan on regular basis, monthly or weekly. You can't meet up with higher purchase balancing with part time Keke hustling. Kelvin125: |

Is it that people and the mods can't see the topic/title? Is the English correct? And many people are just misusing "profit" and it's different forms here. |

If you are hiring a rider to be making returns to you, please don't get the Keke cuz the riders are not always sincere and might cos set-back in the long run. But if you'll swallow your pride as a man and get into work by yourself, then it'll be a good deal. Be security conscious, don't ply unfamiliar routes and don't work very late too. All the best. |

I don't usually respond to posts on this platform but I was moved by your post: I went into Keke business some months after I lost my banking with Zenith bank. I had nothing on me and since I couldn't raise money to run a business, going into keke business was the only option left for me. I couldn't afford a new one. And getting someone to sign me on a HIRE PURCHASE AGREEMENT was a problem too. I settled for a fairly used one and that was my worst undoing. I was spending more on repairs than I was getting. Most times I felt discouraged but I kept on pushing. Down here in the East, HIRE PURCHASE AGREEMENT goes for between 1.2m to 1.5m, depending on the type and brand of the keke. And you must make payments weekly. Honestly, Keke business is a viable one though I wasn't so lucky but I had friends who were making money daily. I don't know the nature of your job, considering your schedule: you must REMIT WEEKLY. So, consider these: Would you have time and the strength daily to ride the keke ? Mind you, you have to set your daily targets which must include your daily savings and that of your benefactor. Here for instance, most weekly remittance goes between 20k to 25k, depending on the HIRE PURCHASE Amount. And that means you must save at least 4k daily after all expenses. Most HIRE PURCHASE AGREEMENT last for a period of 12 months. And extension would amount to increase in the amount. Please call me on: 07030860870 if you need further details. 1 Like |

Kelvin125: Don't listen to people discouraging you that market is saturated, union fee bla bla bla. Transport i.e. Movement of people, goods and services from one place to the other can never ever be saturated! Don't buy fairly used especially if you are a novice on the road. As a civil servant, contact the microfinance banks or Cooperative around to give you loan to buy new Keke btw 600-800k OR new Okada 250-300k. Their interest is maximum 15-20%. And you have peace of mind. Hire purchase is 100% interest and can become horrible and full of insults along the way. If you were in the east I could guide you. I'm into the transport sector. I own, operate, acquire and manage for people. OR CHAT ME UP. 2 Likes |

I don't know your location but I know that if you're in a city, you can be making at least 5k every day from keke, some days you can make as much as 10k or even more. But right now Keke is cost, it's almost N850k to 900k, so the hire-purchase price will certainty be high as well. Your location matters and the amount you're to be paying every week and also the period it will take to complete the payment. In Enugu people take keke at, as high as N1.4m on hire purchase, so they work hard to return as high as 20k weekly, so as to be able to complete the payment in about 18 months. |

jospepper: Some of your assertions here are wrong.. Presently Keke sells for 750k to 850k depending on location. High purchase fees is between 1.2 m to 1.4 m depending on ur location viability and agreement with driver. Drivers remits between 18k to 25k weekly. On average, driver pays all in 12 months or more. Keke business has risk just like other businesses. It might work perfectly for u Give it a try if you don't have better option to invest. When sourcing for driver, ensure u get a responsible one n let him provide a known guarantor do he won't run with it. Also don't forget to install car security tracker if the location is criminal zone. 2 Likes 1 Share |
