The nine top oil producing states in Nigeria are:

Akwa Ibom - the largest oil producer with 31.4% (504,000 BPD)
Delta – 21.56% (346,000 BPD)
Rivers – 21.43% (344,000 BPD)
Bayelsa – 18.07% (290,000 BPD)
Ondo – 3.74% (60,000 BPD)
Lagos – 2.64% (40,000 BPD)
Edo – 2.06% (33,000 BPD)
Imo-1.06 % (17,000 BPD)
Abia-0.68% (11,000 BPD)

Anambra state did not make the list so theirs must be 0.00000001%

IPOB say that Biafra includes the Niger Delta South-South states.

On the basis that Igbos and the south-south people are ''brothers''.

But there have been no genetic studies showing that an Efik man or Ogoni man is any more a ''brother'' to an Igbo man than say, a Bini, Hausa, or Yoruba man.

One suspects that this IPOB claim to ''brotherhood'' with the south-south is based more on economic considerations ie oil and gas, than an actual belief by the Igbos of their genetic links to the south-south.

Why are fulanis claiming Sokoto when everyone knows that fulanis come from Futaa jallon?

Moreover data on oil output in Nigeria has always been cooked to favour those who beg for unity everlastingly. We will want to see an independent assessment of genuine oil output from ALL igbo speaking territories, including those in Rivers and Delta States..

If many Igbo on Nairaland will begin to ignore anti- Igbo threads like this the better for us. I have been following one Igbo guy here with the 'Username Nedu or so" advising Igbo on this forum to stop responding to anti Igbo threads but some Igbo here are just fools. They will quickly jump on every irrelevant anti Igbo threads they posted here.

I don't comment on such irrelevant threads.

Annual GDP is how you measure a nation's economy, not foreign exchange receipts from the sale of oil.

Oil accounts for just 9% of Nigeria's annual GDP of 450 billion USD.

A far bigger contributor to our GDP is Agriculture, and the north is the epicentre of Agriculture in Nigeria.

So the north contributes FAR MORE than the south-east to the Nigerian economy.

You see that community close to the AO? Na igbos be that. The state only added them to SS deliberately to make SE small and powerless with the smallest number of representors in the NA.

GDP is the value of all domestic goods and services in a particular organization or society.
Some might end up in private account, some in states account and other in federal account.
So how much of the GDP fraction for your non-oil GDP ends up as a federal revenue?

Animal husbandry accounts for less than 5% of GDP.

AGRICULTURE, which is a NORTHERN preserve, is where their contribution to GDP is the greatest.
