Rossiminku: Actually Nigeria runs a service (not agrarian) based economy, with services accounting for close 50% of GDP. Agriculture hovers around 20%. And we all know which ethnic group contributes the most to services in Nigeria. 1 Like |

chrisblack: So if Aworis and Eguns are "sub Yoruba tribes" as you stated, what are Ikwerres, Ekpeyes, Etches? Are they not obviously sub igbo clans? Why are you Yorubas desperate to solidify divisions between the Igbos and these groups but cuddle your minorities tight!?You guys talk of Igbos swallowing these groups but today the ijaws of Ondo are being forced against their will to sing Yoruba anthems! Has any of these sub igbo groups in the east, somee of them far more ethnically related to the Igbos than say Aworis to yoruba, who have been repeatedly defined as the igboids by the authorities in different occasions in the past, been forced to sing to any sort of "igbo anthem" before? 2 Likes |

ShadowCracker: Gambit23: This is the 1962 Map of the Western Region from the US Library of Congress Lagos is where the dot is. The British Colonial Government only leased Apapa from the Oluwa Awori Yoruba Family , Just like the US leased its Military bases in Germany and Japan. If you examine the map carefully and very truthfully you will agree that more than 95% of today’s Lagos State was in Awolowo’s Western Region Almost all of what is Metropolitan Lagos today was actually in the Ikeja Administrative department of the Western Region. Lagos Island was the only exception. When You hear that Yorubas spent 100 years fighting themselves till the British Negotiated the Kiriji Peace Treaty know that the Egba, Ijebu and Oyos which included Ibadan were fighting for the Military and Political control for the Coast of Lagos They had all realised that Sea Coasts meant international Trade and big Money In 1851 when the British First landed in Lagos the Oyos held Badagry area, the Ijebu were in Control of Eastern Lagos from Lekki onwards , the Egbas held Everything between the Oyo and Ijebu Lagos territory’s which included practically all of Mainland Lagos including Ebutte Metta,Iganmu,Ikeja,Agege,Ifo, Ota everything from Lagos Mainland to Abeokuta The real owners of the Oyo and Egba Military controlled Lagos were the Awori The Only part of Lagos Oba zkosoko Controled Was on Lagos Island half of Which belonged to the Onikoyi who was another Oyo man Lagos Island where the Oba of Lagos resided belonged to the Awori Aromire Family Oba of Lagos was a Merchant Prince who controlled the Lagos Slave Markets and Port of Isale Eko Area I come in Peace. God bless Lagos and Nigeria

ShadowCracker: Be mute afonja n avoid lies. Oba Akiolu has plainly said he hails from bini kingdom and he's not yoruba. Be quiet. Every part of lagos belongs to Bini people, every yoruba man in any part of lagos migrated from oyo, oshogbo, ogbomosho, etc U cant mention a single Yoruba politician that has led any post in lagos politics that does not come from Ogun, Kwara, Osun and the rest. |

Christistruth00: Mumu Okpo ...stop copying other peoples post, Its grossly stupid to do so. Lagos area is several hundreds of years old and in ur small sense, If the British rented portions of it from a so called yorub family, therefore lagos now belongs to yoruba people . Lagos AKA Eko is Bini land and the Word Eko has no meaning in Yoruba language, Rather it is Bini language. Malu ife |

Y Gambit23: Everything Posted by me On the day the British Colonial Government first landed in Lagos in 1851 Oyo controlled Badagry Area Which they had taken from the king of Dahomey along with Porto Novo (Ajase) in War . The Oyos had fought Dahomey as Allies of the Eguns Aare Oona Kakanfo Oyabi had led the Oyo Army The Abeokuta Egba Army Controlled all of Lagos Mainland Which they had won in the Ota War of 1842 in Which the Oyos of Ibadan fought as Allies of Oba Kosoko and the Awori and received such a heavy defeat at the hands of the Egbas that the Ibadan Army had to be smuggled back home. The whole Episode almost led to the downfall of Basorun Oluyole back at Ibadan The Ijebu Controlled Everything East of Lekki All Oba Kosoko Controlled was the Slave market and Port of Isale Eko on Lagos Island, Even Ikoyi belonged to the Onikoyi who was an Oyo man Again if you hear that Yorubas spent 100 years fighting themselves till 1878, Just know that the Egba, Ijebu and Oyo Which included Ibadan were fighting for Control of the Coast of Lagos Control of the Coast of Lagos meant Titanic Wealth. but unfortunately much of that was from the Slave trade The Lagos territory Controlled by the Egbas , Oyo and Oba Kosoko belonged to the Awori People who were the most Peaceful and accommodating of all Yoruba Clans Eko is Yoruba short for Ereko which means field and for Confirmation Ereko Market where the Egbas and Ijebu traded is still on Lagos Island today Also Eko Ende in Osun State was one of the Locations of the Jalumi War of 1878 The Awori have inhabited Lagos since the 13th Century when they migrated from Ile Ife led by Olofin Ogunfuminire who was a great grandson of Oduduwa and a nephew of Oranmiyan who headed to Benin around the same period The Otun Ekiti People migrated from Lagos in the 15 th Century and share the same ancestry with the Awori of Lagos |

Very soon, everybody will begin to drink the oil. When the world is moving forward, an idiot is opening thread about who get 3 percent oil whereas countries like Saudi Arabia with 100 percent oil are figuring out ways to survive post crude oil world. Idiots everywhere. The thoughts of Igbos will continue to torment you people in your dreams until you all drink sniper. |

If Igboland and Igbo people contribute nothing to Nigeria, as preposterous as that sounds, then why are we having this conversation? Igboland breaks away and ONLY Igboland, and everyone will be happy...apparently. |

Gambit23: Go and sleep Even Oba of Benin is not dragging Lagos with Yorubas So Ife should claim Benin because it is a Yoruba word ? Many Yoruba including Ijebu pronounce Ereko which means Field as Eko the “r” remains silent. There are Eko Ajala and Eko Ende Which was one of the locations of the 1878 Jalumi War in Osun State. From Sir Alfred Moloney British Colonial Governor of Lagos 1890

Re: Is THIS The Real Reason IPOB Wants The Niger Delta? by Gambit23: 3:12pm On May 27, 2021 |
Christistruth00: Ereko is Ereko and Eko is Eko, Very different n distinct (even in meaning). Benin is a Yoruba word?? .... Pls are u high Oba of Benin doesn't need to drag shii, Oba Akiolu has said it all. The first settlers and owners of the Lagos area long long before Nigeria was conquered by the west is and remains the Bini kingdom. |
