Why Do Nigerians Sell Their Cars When It Is Having Major Issues? by nymphomaniac(m): 12:15pm On Jun 04, 2021 |
Per the above captioned, 80% of Nigerian Used cars are always having either engine or gear fault. The rest 20% are not in good condition but can be fixed. You will hear talk like “once the car start to give you major problems, just sell am”. Does it mean the person buying it doesn’t like better thing? To make matters worse, serious faults won’t be disclosed leaving the would be buyer vulnerable eventually. Things have to change sha. Just ranting. Cc everyone on car talk 1 Like |

The person buying if he has better option he won’t buy it. Every one is buying what their money could afford. Even some of the cars we import from USA has issues with them. If you want the Best Buy tie leather 8 Likes |

nymphomaniac: Greed on the part of both buyers and sellers example My accord EOD has smoking engine and flaring gear which doesn't pass gear 3 okay to fix Complete Engine K24A is around 220 to 250k and transmission is 150k total is 250+150=400k People would price naija used 500 to 700 saying the car don tey and nigeria road and weather don maga the body and other components. Remove 400 from 700 you will have 300 left minus workmanship and the rest, the car is worth 250k or less But if I decide to just advertise the car at 550k, saying the engine is smoking slightly without disclosing the gear issue and adding AC needs gas I go see greedy person way no know about car and can't pay Gazzuzz or that mrautofixcool guy inspection money price am 450 to 500k and carry the wahala 4 head guy man go happy. All humans have greedy tendency just some checks don't enable us exhibit it. 12 Likes |

nymphomaniac: I know a guy who looks for naija used car with bad engine or transmission, he once bought an Honda CRV 03 with smoking engine and bad Ac... Price the car down to 300k, frame was ok, electrical was ok. The funny thing was that he drove the car that way 2 month ( he said he could have drove it longer than that ), while periodical refilling the Ac gas. on the 3rd month, he enter Oyingbo, got a new engine (200k) , and fix the Ac leakage. Car has been serving in no issue for 2 years He swears and claims till this date that naija used car are great deal 1 Like |

nurey:my brother trust me I can NEVER sell any of my Honda cars on Nairaland,I have observed they are not valued by most folks on this forum, any car not minding the brand,so long it is in very good condition is not supposed to come cheap, but folks here thinks only Toyota is permitted to be expensive,if you like ehhh advertise a brand new car that is not Toyota, you will see terrible pricing up and down, nairaland is for Toyota advert,I believe you 100%,I noticed that trend of pricing Sir. |

dadabashua1:you have a point sha. CRVs and Accords are priced crappily compared to Toyota cars. You will see a Toyota Camry 2001 being priced at 800-850k and an accord 04/05 being priced for 600-750k. Lol 1 Like |

duality:from my observation, southerners has a very bad maintenance culture, the mechanic there are also very much of cheats, before someone will come for my head I'm a typical Southerner.. Lol,seriously when you see Nigerian used cars up north you might mistaken it for tokunbor, little wonder why they complain more about the Honda than other part of Nigeria, and you know Honda is strictly base on manufacturer instructions, why won't they be selling EOD for 200k...lol,trust me in Kaduna people still sell their EOD till this day over a million naira, even you as a buyer you will mistaken it for tokubor...if you are on IG follow Manga motors,Kaduna online cars and kano cars, you will be shocked how sound and solid their accords are although it doesn't come cheap, some folks in the north has never experience leg issues till this day..lol,I give it to them when It comes to car maintenance, and their Mechanics knows their work wella and also display a level of integrity 2 Likes |
