But Mr Obasanjo, who noted that Nigeria’s diversity remained a major source of its strength, explained that disintegration would result in “weak republics”. With due respect, Obasanjo you don't know what you're talking about. There are many successful countries in the world with populations less than most Nigerian ethnic groups- Singapore, Brunei, Macau, Hong Kong, Belize, Bahamas, etc, too many to mention. Even here in Africa, the smaller African countries; such as Gambia, Senegal, Botswana, Mauritius, etc, are relatively more successful than the bigger African countries simply because being smaller, they're closer to themselves. Africa was already that way, which was and still our natural statehood. It took our ancestors millions of years to create that!! You people misunderstand the whole concept of nationhood because you don't understand the difference between a country and a nation. There's no African nation; only the smaller African countries may have a feeling of nationhood because they're closer to themselves but in a big country like Nigeria there's no strong sense of nationhood. Therefore, the center cannot hold. Nobody is saying that Africa should be splitted into thousands of countries but let the different African nationalities that make up the African continent be able to govern themselves, manage their resources, study in their native language, and completely run as independent nations within one African country if you like. In fact, we can elect one African president if we want. You Mr. Obasanjo can become the president of one Africa. Only then shall the diversity make sense because like the USA, we African nations (tribes) will have internal peace and would then be able to unleash our intellects and our natural ingenuity to compete toe to toe with the rest of the world. We cannot unleash the best of ourselves right now because we are locked down into a system of fake nationhood created for us by Europeans. We are living a reality that our African ancestors did not create. We are living an illusion!! African elites are fools!! 1 Like |

Rissimenky: ...then move to another country....Nigeria will not split 'up' because.... Can you see the paradox folks like you live in. What do you want exactly. Should he, she...them, they... go or not... You have your cake and desire to eat it as well So what I suggest to folks like you. Look for a quiet place, under a lonely tree somewhere remote, sit down and think long, hard and deeply about life, about humanity and about how absurd you see, understand and relate with others. |

Obasanjo is the last hope of the North. The Yorubas remain the problem of the Southern Nigeria freedom. Nobody expects Obasanjo to come out publicly and declare support for Oduduwa Republic. That day would be the END of Nigeria. He knows the game is up. Umaru Dikko told Abiola Presidency is not for the highest bidder in 1983. In 1993, Obasanjo said Abiola is not the Nigeria messiah. Those are the people deciding who controls Nigeria. They brought him out of prison to power as the only trusted person they can give the Presidency power . Obasanjo went to them to plead for Jonathan. He stood as a guarantor for Jonathan. Obasanjo and other elders in Yoruba land know Nigeria cannot work. They are just waiting for death to come. They know generations behind will break the slavery. All this his epistles is to win northerners confidence. False confidence. Yorubas call the epistles "AWIJARE " . |

[quote author=Ekpeitit post=102570372]I am saying Nigeria should give you Biafra, isn't that what the Igbos want? Hahahaha. You will get that Igbo Biafra sooner than you think.[/quo So what if the Aniomas in Asaba, the Etches, Obigbos, the Omumas etc in the south south choose to make one country with their igbo brothers in the Niger delta. What then will you do? Remember those places has oil too. Will you stop them? Won't that give the Eastern region a road to sea? Your hatred for the Igbos is just foolishness. And to think you're probably Akwa Ibomites. Well I'm thankful majority of the people in Akwa ibom love the Igbos. |

bjdon:When there is a BIAFRA there will be a new constitution where agencies fighting frauds and Corruption will be independent and can't be influence by the President just like the USA. A new law where corrupt individuals will be prosecuted in a shorter time than Nigeria that takes years to prosecute one person. No one will be above the law..not even Mr President. Also there will be no immunity for anybody |

Obasanjo, call a spade a spade. Speak truth to power and tell the tribalist Buhari to act as President of Nigeria instead of President of Fulanis. We want a Nigeria of equals not a Nigeria of slaves and masters. Restructure or disintegrate. |

Rissimenky: You are either ignorant or trying to be foolishly arrogant. We have the right to self determination. You can not force different nationalities to stay together as one country. We have to negotiate our unity. If we can not have agreement, then the country will disintegrate whether you like it or not. |

Coming from an old ugly fool who permitted the North to create sharia. Should a country that supposed to be "one" have two laws? The examples he gave were deceitfully presented. E.g the main problem between India and Pakistan is the unsettled territorial issues, not about their split. India has territorial disputes with China, does that mean the two were once under one sovereignty? No. The Yugoslavia example is false. The splinters countries are happy and aren't at war with each other. In fact, most of the are better than Nigeria! Also Sudan and South Sudan aren't at war anymore. Both countries are far more peaceful than Nigeria! |
