Remove unilorin from ilorin
I see nothing there,

Maybe they were only talking about ABA (not including the metropolitan area, like Ariaria, osisioma, obingwa and ugwunagbor which are actually more populated than Aba city itself)

Cos by all standard ABA as a City is has a population far above 1.6 million
If you have been to the City, you will actually know that

We the Aba people know this...
We ain't bothered by such Stats..

Some Nigerians are not too bright.
See how Igbos are salivating on this thread!
Totally SMH

built-up
/bɪltˈʌp/
adjective
1.
(of an area) densely covered by buildings.
"he steered the stricken aircraft away from the built-up area"

Of course, SE will be more urban, they have a very small space to develop.
If you pack the same furniture in a 2 bedroom apartment and in also in a 50 bedroom apartment, will you get the same effect?

People need to realise the researchers used satellite images to do this.
It has absolutely nothing to do with population.

I can Tell you for fact that the whole of Ibadan at the moment has more than 5million residence. So what you are telling me is Onitsha is Bigger than Ibadan? If Onitsha alone 7milliom(approximately according to your reference), Then what is the total Population of Anambra State?

Don't just believe everything you see online. We all know for a fact that the 2006 Census was fraud but notwithstanding, this figure for Onitsha is Aggravated.

I believe their consideration ratio is:
1. The population
2. Ability to draw investors
3. Weather
4. A business oriented environment.

Not physical structures.

Lagos as it is, is not something afonjas should be boasting of. Lagos was once the FCT, it was built by entire Nigerians. Afonjas were not up to 30 percent of those that made Lagos what it is today but Onitsha on the other hand was built and dwelt by 99.9 percent Igbos. Do a census in Lagos today and you will see that afonjas are not up to 60 percent of Lagos dwellers and when I mean Lagos, I mean the city not the interior villages in the state.

Na so!
Nigeria's population has never been debunked by the international community. In fact, they regularly submit that it's higher than our census.

They have their methods of determining.

joyandfaith:

2006 census was a fraud. Reliable census was conducted during colonial regime. I have been in onitsha, benin city, port Harcourt, owerri, aba, abuja, kano, kaduna, zaria, Katsina. I served in funtua, Katsina state. I am familiar with ilorin . I live in. Ibadan.
There are more people in southern nigeria than north.

Did you ask your self when was that census conducted by the oyibo or
You believed what one European just sat down and estimated as truth but you will not believe census conducted by your own country.
What most people commenting here failed to put into consideration or know but chose to ignore is that Kano city is not the same as Kano state, Kaduna is not the same as kaduna state.
Whether you agree with me or not, the population of the north is more the less rural. That is to say majority of the northen population are rural dwellers.
Compare with the south which population concentration is mostly town base. And the reasons for this are not far fetched: land and occupation type: For instance, there are numerous researches which clearly show that one of the most dense occupied place in Africa is the south eastern Nigeria. But this does not mean that the people of eastern Nigeria are more in population than every other in Africa.
Therefore, Lagos may be more populated than Kano but Lagos State is not populated than Kano state. Even with out census, most of the statistical data in this respect favour Kano than Lagos.
you are totally right on this

If you want to increase population just look for women and begin to impregnate them like rabbits.
It is very easy to increase population but to take care of the entire population is difficult, the resources will not be evenly distributed. Many will scramble to the few
and left over available resources.
Those countries above know the implications of a controlled population. That is why they are doing fine.
