“The judgement affirmed the laid off staffs as the authentic owners of the shares. It is off important to note that this judgement has not been appealed to this day. This injunction made me think again and wonder if the affected staff really did something criminal or unethical. They don't want EFCC to look into the acquisition of the shares of the company, that says a lots, it stinks corruption and like someone wants to escape justice. |

In the atmosphere we live in this country today when people do the decent thing, go through the right channels and processes, just let the right thing be done. Why should court orders not be obeyed. Why is the rule of law set aside. It is when confidence in institutions and systems and processes are completely eroded you see the collapse of society into violence, self help and extra-judicial actions. These people know that issues surrounding the oil and gas industry and resource control are touchy subjects which can so easily snowball into wider crises in a heart beat, they should just let go and let the law take its course for peace to reign. We so like brinkmanship in this country and seem to enjoy unending crises out of sheer stupid greed and mindlessness. |
