My first degree is in Business Education, served in a school and was retained. While serving, I started ICAN from foundation level in May 2019, got a job in an audit firm after few months of working as a full staff in the private school where I served. I currently work with the audit firm with the hope of moving to one of the big four very soon . I have just a course left to qualify as a chartered accountant. I'm looking forward to adding data analytics and data science to the bag 3 Likes |

Historicalee:Left banking officially in 2016 when I got tired of doing the same thing everyday and it's also a contract staff role with no transition into full time staff. Learnt website and mobile app development in the whole 2017 and started freelancing online and taking some gigs as well. In 2018. I discovered data science as a prospective field, I watched few videos on YouTube and I fell in love with it because it relates well with database management I learnt in web development. I shoot my shots at several schools in the USA then I opted for SAU because it offer courses in both business analytics, data analytics and visualization, enterprise resource and planning as well as some business courses. It was a great opportunity for me to blend business and tech |

Ltherman: My school is Southern Arkansas University Tuition is about $4k per semester (9 credit hours, I.e 3 courses per semester). You can get scholarships and funding if you have a great GPA with good test scores. If your background is non-statistics one. You can do a brush up course on udemmy. Although you will still have to take pre-requisite courses in the USA |

I greet you. I also have a Bsc in Accounting and in the final level of Ican. I am considering a switch to Data Analysis, to get a remote work opportunity and possible migration abroad. I understand that you're considering moving along that path. I just need to hear your thoughts-Is data analysis the closest tech field that relates with accounting/finance ? DonroxyII: |
Re: Share Your Career Transition Experience by DonroxyII: 7:50pm On Jul 06, 2021 |
demanuel:Great ... Yes Data analysis is related to Accounting ... you can transition into Business analysis too and/or Business analytics ... Then you apply your business knowledge derived from accountancy to provide management information necessary to making informed decisions !! 1 Like |
