Listen to what a Jamaican had to Say about working in USA.

Ok Delpratt family. Let me break down foreign life for you.
Those people you see in those gigantic homes and big SUV they up to their guzoo in debt.
Every thing they own is on credit. The property taxes on the big house is extranamicall.
I know people whose property tax is $30,000 USA. In some states if you don't pay water bill they can auction off your house. We work multiple jobs in the states. One salary is for expenses the other for savings. People's health are at risk with those jobs. The stress of the jobs is something else especially in health care.

In the USA there is no family time like you guys enjoy there(In jamaica). Airbnb is taxed in the USA. You would not have a better quality of life in the USA. I know people who are professionals in Jamaica who have a driver and car from their company. They get a good salary and big bonus at the end of the year. They live a good life. Their yearly bonus can pay down their mortgage.

Someone coming from Jamaica now to the USA will be struggling because inflation is through the roof. It's not affordable anymore.
A CNA makes about 20 to $28 dollars per hours but they have to work overtime to make ends meet. An RN makes $ 40 to $60 dollars if they are working in a hospital. If they are travel nurses then it's from $100 and up with other stipends but they have to leave their children behind. It's an excellent salary but lots of sacrifice in leaving spouse and children every 12 weeks. It's a trade off in having material things and run the risk of possible having children who feels neglected.

Cousin9999:

Be rich. Just kidding.

You can study in Jamaica for as little as 1M naira.

You can start a business or maybe move your existing business there, which could be lucrative given better access to north and south America.

I haven't done the research, but off the top of my head, IT and medical professionals would probably be in demand there.
are they subjected to tyccon, hurricane and earthquake like Haiti?

How livable is it on a tight budget?

Cost of housing for one

Which areas are better or cheaper + safe?

Some are arguing about beauty others just looking for a place to escape to.
