Are they going to be shooting at fire?
Nigeria is a mess God himself is still thinking about the best detergent that can clean.

Here are the list of what fire fighters need:

1. More fire station and truck, presently we have 1 fire truck serving over 5 million people.

2. More fire hydrants at every street to enable them assess water.

3. Better PPE

4. Recruit more fire fighter and give them better pay and life insurance.

They don't need guns rather. You want to give them gun to shoot the populace that is helping them when there is fire outbreak.

The utterances coming from our ministers these days are worrisome.

For what? We don't see it anywhere else in the world

Can you Supply Cassava within the SW?
Up to 100 tonnes needed daily
High starch, 419 or 30275

See Siggy for contact

Not seeing it done elsewhere in the world is not a good reason for wanting Nigeria not to do something. Actually we need to be of the mindset to try things not done elsewhere in the world or we’ll be perpetual imitators and never innovators.

Having said this, you may be interested to know that in the UK where ambulance and fire Service personnel are/were often targeted and attacked by yobs, police armed unit escort were considered at one point.

*Fire Service Carrying Arms or Not*

The truth is since time immemorial we've had cases of angry mobs damaging firefighting assets, attacking firemen as though they were the ones who put the fire there and for some, their hidden motive is to cause hinderance so they can steal remains of the victim belongings out of the burning building .

The Fact Remains:
Most Fire Stations that exist all over the world don't have an arm unit.
Fire service mandate is to save lives and properties
In process of saving lives, you need to be as welcoming as possible and not be like a threat to people's lives.

In a country where everything works RIGHT,
The water board makes sure,Fire hydrants are strategically positioned and that makes it easier to quickly get Appliance refilled and get back to work during emergency instead of going extra miles in cases of when the building is still burning.

In a country where everything works RIGHT,
People don't take installation of fire prevention and alarm systems at homes, offices, shops, factory etc for joke

In a country where everything works RIGHT,
Enhancing the general welfare of firemen and providing key equipments to make fire fighting and rescue during emergency easier shouldn't just be taken with levity.

In a country where everything works RIGHT,
a number of dedicated armed personnel are suppose to be attached to each fire station,
Due to quick emergency response turn out time,
It is expected that they lead the convoy, while the Appliance,Paramedics etc follow suit.

On arrival at the fire scene they mount while the Fire Service also go ahead in carrying out it's core mandate.

If you are a Nigerian and you don't have the emergency number readily stored on your phone
You are also part of the problem because when you see a fire incident happening ,how will you be able to call the fire service
Most of you blame the service when you don't even maybe have the number handy to even call on time so they can also help arrive on time.

This Minister is absolutely clueless. So why can't the Police cordon off an area, as performed in every civilized nation? Why arm the Fire Service? That's just duplication of duty and downright stupidity there.

You know, Dem fires need to be shot down. Do we need further proof that Nigeria is being run by retards? Let's start arming every government worker while we are at it.

In civilised climes when there is fire outbreak and you call 911, they respond by sending fire fighters, a police car and an ambulance. But here we like muddling things up. Road safety will do police work, police will do road safety and VIO combined. Civil defence will do police and agbero.... This country na cruise
