Ortom is unarguably the MOST USELESS GOVERNOR NIGERIA WILL EVER HAVE. Six years running and ALL Ortom has done for the people of Benue state is attack Buhari and scream Fulani on national TV. Ortom is owing workers seven to 10 months salaries. The state university is threatening to go on strike. The judiciary is threatening to go on strike. Heal workers are threatening to go on strike. Tertiary institutions are also threatening to go on strike. Absolutely nothing worth commisioning is happening in Benue state. He slashes the meagre salaries of local government workers to "cater to IDPs" (according to him). Never mind the arrears theyre being owed. He has bought up nearly every square inch of lands in Makurdi. Cultists are taking over the state, killing people on a daily basis. Boundary crisis ongoing in at least 4 communities as we speak. Sankara axis is a no go area with Gana's brothers and boys on a killing spree. Everything is bleeped in the state. His media attack dogs have been all over the place screaming "Buhari hates Benue people", but the people of the state arent buying any of that bullshit anymore. Theyre tired of his incessant blames and blackmail. I suspect this "invitation for commissioning" is just another plot to come up with another "Buhari hates Benue people" round of excuses, knowing fully well it is very likely the president wouldnt show up. People outside the state have no idea the kind of devil Ortom is and keep praising him on social media. Theres hardly anyone in the state that speaks good of him at the moment. All the critical sectors in the state, he has filled with his brothers and sisters from Guma, building up an army for his 2023 senate ambition. Imagine both the MD of the state teaching hospital and the Resistrar of the state university are siblings almost sharing the same compound with him in his village, coupled with the TOTAL NEGLECT of the Igede people, yet he claims Buhari is this and that. No one knows the current wage bill of the state even to the nearest million, neither do they the current IGR! The man runs the state like a private limited company_ extremely opaque. TripleOh7:Read my comment above. There is absolutely nothing there to commission just like Bafanabafana has said. He's just looking for another way to divert attention from his inexcusable failures knowing the president might be too engaged to honour the invitation. The next thing we are likely to start reading on social media is his tirade about the president snubbing him because he "hates benue state for standing against open grazing". The projects he has completed are mainly frequent complain about lack of money, non payment of salaries to workers/retirees and others. If this so called senseless Ortorm has done those projects as claimed, he should have listed them. I think we need to confirm from the people in the state. There are people who have retired since 2016/2017 and all those who retired after them that have not received a penny as pension not to talk about gratuity the governor is a failure and as a matter of fact, Benue has never produced a productive governor, all they do is embezzle and spend lavishly 1 Like |

chukel:No one voted him for any "performance", and no one possibly could have said so. Ortom simply rode on the back of "Fulani herdsmen" propaganda to win reelection. Everyone in the state knows this. Sensing he had no projects to present on his scorecard to earn him a second term, and knowing Akume wasn't favorably disposed to his candidacy seeing what a failure he was, and was rather more amenable to a Jime candidature, he (ortom) hurriedly went to work with the Fulani card. He made Akume and his allies appear like "Fulani co-conspirators" out to kill Tiv people and projected himself as "the defender of the Benue Valley", never mind a defender that is always on TV crying about the same issue he claims he has secured his people from!! While doing this, he approached pdp, and of course his being an incumbent made him very attractive to them, just like Edo. He made sure the only political discourse that took place in the state is Fulani themed! And the shit sold like vodka in Russia. They flooded every available media space with gory images of victims of "Herdsman attacks" and made sure Akume's name was always added as a footnote. It was the reason for the publicity of the mass burial back then, and it's shameful some of those coffins were empty! It has been the only card on his table and he has sworn to milk it for all it's worth! Ortom is a class act for unbridled failure. |

BafanaBafana:He wouldn't really understand because he is certainly not in Benue State. I had to check within myself, take a look around the major cities in the State like Makurdi, Gboko, Oturkpo, Katsina-ala etc to see should I can remember any state government's capital project either completed or ongoing but no, there is non. It's actually a very difficult task to point at Governor Ortom's project in Benue State aside his personal houses and companies, scattered all round Makurdi. It's better to face the challenges of finding dy/dx in differential equations and complex analysis than finding Ortom government's project in the State. 1 Like |

He is without doubt the worst performing governors in Nigeria, who routinely owes workers & pensioners upwards of 12 Monthly payment. ◀️⏪ Benue is also among the fee states who are unable to pay 18k ( yes, 18k) minimum wage.
