Definitely Mac, but a macbook pro and similar (AIRs are not meant for programming).
Also the OS is Posix compliant, so full unix experience. Unparalleled battery life, and you can use the system for 10 years.

Windows is good for game programming cause most vendors write games for windows.

A gaming laptop is not necessarily the best for programming cause , the main attraction for gaming is the GPU which is not as critical for regular programming.

For Programming you need Fast processors, multiple cores ( the more the merrier) , lots of RAM ( to run many services like DBs, Queues, mail-servers, etc.)

I even use it as a server now because I have upgraded to

It came with 2GB but I upgraded to 4GB ram.
Even now shipping should not be more than $45

This interests me. How do you get shipping for around $40 when the one written on the site is 300+.

See below link ,its currently on bid at $23 and it's macbook pro 2014,infact if u get it,you should be able to run Big Sur.
The bid will end tmr.

You're right. Checked again, it's gone up to $20+. Did you have to deal with customs clearance when you got yours? What's the likely expense for taking delivery?

I actually used a shipping company in UK.They ship to Nigeria.It should not be more than $45 and they will take care of your clearance.But if eventually you used DHL or UPS,what u will pay as custom duty for a product bought at $60-$100 should not be more than #2,500.

If eventually you did not succeed and interested in my own,I may likely sby next month.
