I just a read a highly revealing scholarly article on the causes of the herdsmen crisis in Nigeria.

The main reason given of course was climate change causing accelerated desertification of the Sahara, and forcing herdsmen ever southwards for greener pastures to graze their cattle.

The 2ND reason given was the heightened migration of 'southern Nigerians' up to the north, causing pressure on land resources and land availability, and forcing herdsmen to migrate southwards.

These ''southern Nigerians'' buy up hectares of land and build houses and estates aplenty, plus numerous business premises, factories etc.

Now of course we know who these ''southern Nigerians'' are, even if the author was far too polite to mention their ethnicity outright.

Perhaps it's time to implore those ''southern Nigerians'' to head back home and free up the land for its original inhabitants, to help ease the herdsman crisis?

This is yet the stupidest thing you have posted on NL.

Funny enough, I feel nothing but pity for you.

It takes a lot of emptiness for an educated person to force himself to spew crap upon crap on NL for a measly monthly stipend.

Obviously, Nigeria stifles and chokes ambition. But you can do better with your life. You already know that.

The north has the Southerners amongst them to thank the little civilization there even if it's still inadequate. He agreed they developed the north by building industries, thereby leading to employment and education.

If southerners were to ever depart Northern Nigeria, the Lebanese would be selling left slipper to them for N500 and the right slipper for N5000.
Northern Nigeria has land and huge agriculture potential. That they are lazy, unproductive and unimaginative is a known fact.
With all their agricultural resources, Northern Nigeria is still the most wretched place on planet Earth.
That's why they leech on the natural and human resources of the south.
