Actually, it's a very very complicated case, the law forbids them from having sexual relations with inmates, the law is silent on relation with family of inmates, only if the court can establish the use of coerce/force in dating the woman, it will rule as two consenting adults

some things are morally wrong but legally there is no case to establish

even if you argue that the lady is married, all she will get is a divorce which she has already requested for, no court can jail a man for dating a woman when there is no force

You're right. Truth be told, ACC Musa has not committed any crime. The lady had already lost faith in the husband's case and was willing to let go. That was why the inmate had to approach ACC Musa to plead with her in the first place. Unfortunately, ACC Musa took advantage of the situation for his own benefit. In that, ACC Musa acted in a "morally" wrong way.

It is difficult to blame the lady because of the following:

1. If the husband had not been involved in a case of armed robbery and illegal possession of firearm, this situation would not have come to be. He holds the blame for that.

2. The case against the husband may be so tight that he cannot escape life imprisonment, death sentence or a very long prison term. To expect the lady to wait upon a lost case that was not caused by her is unfair in anyway you look at it.

Now imagine the case is a lost one and the ACC Musa in advising the lady stated as much. And the lady is quite beautiful, talked about warning her husband against his ways before the current situation, is now determined to leave the inmate but worries about her financial future. The inmate may not have been a good husband in the first place and the couple may have no kids so what does she have to wait for? Those are legitimate and possible considerations.

That is why it is difficult to pass judgement here before having the full facts of the case and hearing from all sides. It is too early to start calling the lady a LovePeddler and all kinds of name. Some women would have severed ties immediately the husband became an inmate based on the charges of armed robbery, talk less of visiting him till she got disillusioned with his case.
