Lazy set of leaders. In Southern Nigeria, about 10% of families both rich and poor have cultists amongst them. So you want to now demolish their family houses instead of fighting cultism? Inasmuch as I am 100% against cultism, this is nonsense.

Dis governor Abiodun has nothing to offer with his idiotic approach to important matters. What happened to inteligence gathering and it is very easy because cultists are so loud and careless. Create better security outfit who will nab them before, during operation it is very easy. Imagine you want to demolish house and punish parents. If that is the case then I can assure the governor that 50% of houses in ogun state wud be demolished if u know u know . Jst dont understand how dis set of individual manage 2 become power to be. However bad cultism is, statements such as this is ilegal because there are no law that back demolishing people's house for renting it out. There are too many impunitive policies in nigeria, which is why there is no order. A country where a governor can just make a pronouncement or threat or give order, and instantly that becomes a law, is giving room for anarchy, corrupt tendencies. We should not cure illegality with illegality. Why are there state assemblies? Nigeria's governors and presidents are too powerful; and this has rub on senators, police commissioners and DPOs, and more recently touts who enjoys the love of politicians

You have not heard of children of Professors, Pastors, top company executives whose children turn out nuisances despite growing up in an environment of high morals and discipline.

Later we found out he was the top leader of a cult.

I did not down play any factor. I just pointed to facts that thinking a lot of these cultists came from poor upbringing is not true.

I remember once a cultist that got murdered at Enugu. During his burial, his mother spat repeatedly on his dead body, saying he was a disgrace to his family.

After bringing him up in a God fearing way, instilling discipline and took care of him. Then ending up dead as a cultist.

People tried stopping her but she refused and kept on abusing her dead son that he was a disgrace and will burn in hell for neglecting her teachings.

So, it is not as easy as you think. Go and check out stories as that of F
Yemi Adefarasin. The son of one of the top Supreme Court Judges in Africa. Brought up well, with a very God fearing family. Became a drug addict on the street in America.

His mother believed her prayers saved him and Yemi became a pastor and turned from his ways.

Parents need to do their best and pray hard for their children to obey their ways.

Not all kidnappers, drug dealers, armed robbers and cultists were brought up poorly. That makes the Governor's statement irresponsible and lack understanding.
