The world of weapons can't create a world of peace..
For peace to reign everyone must surrender their spending on weapons

Possibly True. The zircon can be taken out by systems currently in place. The only problem they pose is that they close in faster, giving you less time to target them, so all you need do is extend your radar detection and get them faster as well

Nah no missile interception can catch up to the zircon, mind you they maneuver during flight

US has successfully tricked mother Russia to spend billions on a missile they know they can shoot down cheesy grin grin

The funny thing about Nigerians is they underestimate anything not USA. Yes.., America is powerful...but so are alot of other countries. If the Americans are really as powerful as they want us to believe, they wouldn't accept all these bullshyt from China, Russia, Iran etc

The Investment in MILITARY Hardware and Software as well as space technology among many others is the reason for world hunger .... They are very expensive and deny investment into food sector!!

A third world war is going to be very devastating.

I pity Russians because it's anti missiles has already been developed by Western world.
Secondly, the site that is housing all those missiles are already mapped out for destruction first if the need arises.

There is no current system known to the public that is able to shoot down hypersonic missiles. The S-500 Prometheus which was tested today can come close, but the Aegis system SM-3 missile is far from it.

There is too much hype about the hypersonic systems, the speed resembles that of the Kh-47 Khinzal, the technology is not new and it has precision and control issues, current systems can target them as i understand: https://spectrum.ieee.org/tech-talk/aerospace/military/hypersonic-missiles-are-being-hyped

why una dey like this. Join the hype of hypersonic... What's the speed of a ballistic missile on reentry? (Mach 30). You're saying a missile defense system that uses a hard to kill vehicle not an explosive head o! can't intercept a Mach 7 warhead?
.

ICBM has a predictable path of travel so it's easier to intercept them during their second phase that's why during their re-entry (terminal phase) its hard to intercept them.
Hypersonic missile travel within the atmosphere, meaning lesser detection time and difficulty in intercept due to their maneuver and unpredictable pathway. Mind you missile defense interceptors also travel at hypersonic speed to intercept warhead at space but within the atmosphere they travel at Mach 3+. So there'll be outrun by hypersonic missiles

Don't mind that young man you quoted, he and a lot of people greatly under-estimate the capabilities of Russia. There's no anti-missile system currently in place that can take out the Zircon. Even with long-distance radar, Zircon can still take out a target. They're not even designed to directly hit a target before taking out the target, they're designed to detonate in close proximity to a target and shockwaves from the detonation will take out the target. Russia leads the world in missile tech but the West-controlled news media wont let you know this

It's not as easy as you said... There's no missile anywhere and these sites can't be wiped because they are Mobile, shipborne

1) there's nothing like an anti-missile.
2) Do you realize that most missiles these days are mounted on mobile launch systems?? The missile in this post was launched from a ship, can you map a ship that's not immobile?
3) I think you need to read more about Russian defense systems, they have the current best long-range missile defense system in the world, the S400, which better than the US' Patriot system. I learnt they're currently developing the S500

This is not about article but using common sense and reality, even missile defense doesn't have 100% effectiveness against current supersonic missile, ordinary less advanced Iraq scud missile, the US missile defense fails to intercept on most occasions (during the gulf War) this is a missile with less speed and less technology. Now tell me if it's now an advance Russia missile with hypersonic claim they can now defend against.

Hypersonic systems just need to move at x5 of the speed of sound. The US systems moves at that speed. The Russian system moves at X7 the speed of sound, it'll easily out-pace the US system. It's also maneuverable in-flight and that gives it great tactical advantage in evading anti-missile systems

I believe the US THAAD and SM 3 are catching up. Though s400 seems more badass to me, but they can be vulnerable to stealth attack.

There are arguments that at the speed they operate, trying to control them to avoid defense systems would send them off target by hundreds of meters at the slightest change of direction especially when they are close. Also at that speed, they tend to lose their detection guide against defense systems.

Note... most of what is written here is theory.... similar to COVID19 vaccines that were authorized based on theory. Russia has been doing practicals.... they know better. I believe they are more battle ready and have better weaponry that the U.S. China too.... but they never talk. They must give warnings ... and follow through. Why is the US so often declare it has the right to sail or fly in a particular area but always back down when confronted by China or Russia? It couldn't be for the sake of peace.
