did you make use of board?

They’re creating the boards by hand.

Despite my misgivings about the mess I can vouch that this custom made boards are stronger.

You can actually start a business along this line. Home fortification consulting and services.

This is exactly how Halogen security started, like play.

Thanks.

I actually have a small home automation and renewable energy startup that’s registered with CAC for about 5 years now.

I’m still studying the lay of the land somewhat.

Found a local source for my 16 custom interior doors.

I saw something like that and love it, saving cost and good for internal, for the POP plaster board would have been better, but budget matter most

I agree about the doors. I prefer wood for internals.

With ready made versus self made boards, I actually prefer the self made ones when done by a conscientious artisan.

Random pic where I got the design from. I have no doubt that it’ll turn out as great. Here’s the current status as of this AM.

Attention to detail.

I like this a lot, you plan on using a similar tile?

Kudos, bro. If you don't mind, what's the cost of this project so far? How much do you estimate for the entire project (up to completion)?

I really don't know on this specific build. I stopped counting a long time ago though my Project Coordinator is keeping records for this recent wind in the sail.

Sorry.

No worries. Thanks. Can you give a rough estimate or a range (could be wide)?

What of cost of data.
I have been thinking about this for all these cameras that you can view over the phone and co

How much data will this consume ineba daily or weekly basis

Data cost is almost negligible.

If I share these secret with you, I hope you won’t tell your camera installer grin

Enabling remote viewing is not what makes your camera consume more data. It’s the resolution at which you’re uploading and downloading the camera data that determines your data usage.

Modern CCTVs have a secondary video stream that uses less data at the cost of lower I mage quality. This is done to allow users with poor cellphone reception or slow upload speed on their camera network to view their cameras in real-time.

Regardless of the quality you’re viewing remotely, your camera will still record in full quality on your network recorders.

On cloud storage, your setup will dictate your need.

So how does the CCTV upload quality video to the cloud without consuming much data
Sorry I am trying to learn

It’s a very good question actually.

The higher the video quality sent to the cloud, the more the data consumption. The lower the video quality sent to the cloud, the less the data consumption. So setting your upload quality to low will use the least amount of data but for me it defeats the purpose of having SecCams if the video will be grainy.

On mine there’s three options, high, med and low. I’ll share screenshots later. I set mine to high because I want to see details in the video.

Important to know that you only actually need data if you’re going to be watching remotely. If you’re at home on the same network then no data is consumed. From an IP based system viewpoint which I use and recommend. I forgot the size of the local hard drive.

Now I understand
You only use data
When you are for example traveling.

I hate seeing low quality videos from CCTV
I just cringe when I see banks not willing to invest in high quality CCTV
What is the use of a CCTV camera if you can't capture the face of an offender or crime scene.
Having a good image will enable the police do their work effectively.
I know you have one on your present build. The one twinskenny did for you
How much do you spend on data to view the video remotely and when the CCTV is uploading to cloyd

I mean when you are not home

I only buy equipments from Kenny but do the custom installs myself. Yeah, low quality videos from CCTV are a no no for me.

I have too much other stuff using data that I cannot really tell what the CCTV alone is consuming. MTN offers 30GB for N8K per month.

hehehe I only sold the cameras.. Baba himself did the installation…

Reducing the quality to consume data is a no no for me.. the problem we have in Nigeria is availability of unlimited data plan, few company offer this but quite expensive.. one of my client is spending over roughly 60k monthly on remote access view..he lives in the state.

The more you view the more data is been consumed.
