How to make money off Nigerians is all the govt seems to care about.

People who haven't finished selling treasury bills and paying off all their worldwide loans have once again looked for a scheme to make Nigerians pay.

And the Coneheads will praise the midget because of tribe.

Nigeria will forever be backward becos they are always grateful to their govt for the most stupid things.

Insecurity should be a priority and not this gibberish

Kudos to the dunces celebrating stupidity

My bad I've been quoting you out of context.
But making it a legal tender doesn't prohibit one to acquire other coin, does it?

It may not prohibit you from obtaining another coin but would likely make it more difficult.

Osinbajo a visionary leader said that digital currency should only be regulated and not banned in the country.

"Osinbajo noted that, “I am sure you are all aware of the challenge that the traditional SWIFT system is facing from new systems like Ripple, which is based on the blockchain distributed ledger technology with its own crypto tokens. There are, of course, a whole range of digital assets spawned daily from blockchain technology."

Whenever you see people who love knowledge, you will know them because they will always think differently. Prof Osinbajo loves knowledge and makes deliberate effort to learn new things. Give it to this man; he's one of the most intelligent politicians we have in Nigeria today.

If you are unaware, Ripple provides the backbone for banks to perform their traditional financial services, thereby giving SWIFT a run for its money. This means that instead of using SWIFT to perform cross-border payments and pay high fees, several banks can deploy blockchain-powered Ripple and their customers will pay little or no fees for the same transaction.

It's quite hilarious that some people are even praising osinbanjo for this initiative without really even trying to understand some of the consequences. If this is successful and let's say it's adopted by 30% of nigeria's population that would be financial data and spending patterns of over 60 million negros worth billions of $$$ and this is just on the data side.

If am correct it's this same govt that introduced BVN, NIN and now this shit. It's bad enough that the NIN database is in the control of a terrorist sympathizer called pantami, a digital currency would be the final subjugation of the south by these bororos.

A very stupid idea.

The naira is barely surviving as it is, so why will a Nigerian crypto survive?

Who will buy it? Do they have the credibility to push a crypto?
A country that already has the global reputation of banning free press media like Twitter.

Crypto is about leaving govt backed monetary system.
Nigeria is the very definition of centralism and autocracy.

Instead of osibanjo to tell them to allow Nigerians buy the already established crypto instead of fooling themselves.

A Nigerian crypto is even more riskier than Bitcoin, ethreum and the rest.

If Nigerians are skeptical, imagine what foreigners would even think.

A Nigerian crypto is far riskier than any shitcoin out there.
Re: CBN To Launch Digital Currency Following Osinbajo’s Suggestion by CSTRR: 7:53am On Jul 24, 2021
The CBN should allow Nigerians buy Bitcoin, ethereum and BNB only, if they are actually concerned about the safety of Nigerian funds.

Those ones can never crash.

A Nigerian crypto cannot fly.

/.
If you want to be successful, bet against anything Nigeria. Embrace logic and avoid emotional attachment misrepresented as patriotism.

When I stated in late 2019 that US$ will be exchanged at N500 sooner than later, the "smart ones" cursed me out. And here we are today. Don't think N600 is far-fetched considering the rate Buhari and co-travellers are mismanaging the mono-cultural economy.

NB: My medium term target by extrapolation is N700/$ by the end of Buhari's tenure.

As long as it's pegged to the dollar
It's nothing but a waste
It will be the same exchange rate to the dollar.
Just like cashless policy
There is no difference

The funny thing is that this initiative would not even stabilize the naira.

How una smuggle Osinbajo name enter the article I nor understand. So because Osinbajo said crypto should be regulated and not banned in one of his mumu speech, e don mean say na him make CBN wan do digital currency? You guys are really mad, and it is only a fool that will fall for you guys. Did Osinbajo write any proposal to the CBN as regard creating a digital currency?

Let me enlighten you people. Cryptocurrency was never banned in the first place. It is banks that were banned from being mediums of crypto trade. CBN regulates all activities of Banks in Nigeria. To ban cryptocurrency, there has to be a law to that effect, of which there is non. People are still trading in cryptocurrencies in Nigeria. It is never an offence. Same way using VPN and Twitter is never an offence because Twitter was never banned under any written law in Nigeria.

Many countries have been on the path of having their digital currencies.

A country without a convertible, independent and market driven currency has no business going digital.
The CBN should prove its liberty from the whims and caprices of ASO Rock first.
We cannot have someone coughing there and destroying the productivity of honest, hardworking investors.

Today anyone who is interested in surviving this badly managed economy is moving assets and resources as far away from the influence of this government as possible.
