I worked in Saudi Arabia amongst many other places. I had a junior saudi colleague, black guy who told me his Saudi mum (also black) told him her parents came from Nigeria before Saudi Arabia was formed.
He did not know whether they came as slaves or pilgrimage and just refused to go back.

The lesson is people should stop the idiotic ethnic self determination nonsense and stop fighting the ' spread ' of God.

There are many people claiming to be Hassan, Igbo or Yoruba if when checked carefully wre actually from other tribes originally.

You don't know much

Irrelevant. That individuals may posses a diverse origin doesn't mean the identity of the collective is questionable.
Take Yoruba for example - origin is clear
Whether we have a few who married out or not, it changes nothing about the collective ancestral heritage

Well if it is not your mother tongue no problem . I do not think that is a big deal. There is no pride in mastering another man's language

But YOU accused me of not comprehending

You cannot create your own meanings for word or phrases

"Industrial Scale" is what you said.

It has a clear meaning = doing some economic activity in a big way. That is all it means
The Arabs did engage in "industrial scale" sale of slaves.

The SLAVE TRADE WAS AN INDUSTRY whether TransAtlantic or TransSaharan
When you use a word in a manner that denotes a different meaning from what it is supposed to mean that is called a NEOLOGISM and is often a symptom of something sinister(Google it)
You seem confused and incoherent in your reasoning
Black slaves were not operating machines in the America so I do not see what that has got to do with anything here

Your use of the word "synonym" is totally incongruous and clearly a compensatory device to cover your manifest deficiencies
On this occasion you have chosen the wrong person to try to bullshit. It is futile
I don't know what u are ranting about. Industrial scale you're emphasising on simply means "something of or on a scale suitable, intended, or necessary for industrial use; (hence also) large-scale". So, why all the noise when the intended meaning is clear and urs is based on poor understanding and trying to twist what u don't even understand.
Your claim of mastering English is a mockery to ur certificate!

Funny guy

YOU said Industrial scale

The key word in that phrase is "SCALE" which is a noun.
You qualified it with an adjective to tell us WHAT TYPE OF SCALE

Industrial is an adjective which in this context simply means BIG

It has nothing to do with Industry which is a Noun in the context that you ignorantly try to construe it

You are the same ignoramus that told us that before the 10th century there were no industries

Dealing in slaves on an "industrial scale" give no indication to what purpose you are going to deploy the slaves

all it tells us is the SCALE of the trade i.e volume

Now going to the question of "industrial use " What does that mean ? That is a very different concept from industrial scale. Not related at all

Now tell us what industrial use slave taken to America were used for besides working on sugarcane and cotton plantations etc

And how the use by Arabs was NOT INDUSTRIAL
If you buy one condom a day that is personal use. If you buy 500 that is industrial scale

He asked if there was slave trade and I said there were jihads instead.

Unless you can show me a timeline of northerners being sold and shipped off. With proof of where they settled after slavery had been abolished.

Slavery was abolished in Kano in 1926.

There was, but it was within the ambit of what was considered "normal" at that era - trade of POW of "fringe tribes" with no organised state (I dont mean to trivialize those it happened to). But it didn't happen @ the industrial scale it did in other parts of the country

As at 1860, about two third of all the people living in Kano were slaves

Slavery is NOT limited to Trans-Atlantic slave trade.

This is blatant falsehood and you know it. Till this day we still have "maguzawa" (heathens)in Kano not to speak of other places in the North. if it was forceful conversion how come these heathens still survived.
Name one of the so called Maguzawa that other Nigerians can identify
How many of these "heathens" as you call them survive?

If indeed they "survive" does that prove there was no forceful conversion?

Even in most Arabic and Moslem world where severe killings and forcfull conversion took place we still have "maguzawa"
Go to Iraq, Iran Pakistan and you think here in Nigeria it can't be the same

It was very rampant in the North, their trading routes were both trans Sahara and trans Atlantic

Tafawa balewa's father was a slave

The major problem was that after Fulanis took over Hausa kingdoms, they only kidnapp and sold hausas... This made many Hausa flee down South and met with British Colonialist soldiers

The British and the Hausa fleeing slaves started the British west Africa frontier force... They succeeded in sending Fulani emirs away and stopping the slave trade

British in turn made Hausa the First Constabulary of Nigeria, later local police, which later became Nigerian Army

.

Slave trade was the most profitable trade of the Sokoto caliphate. The Fulani jihad only took control of the 7 Hausa states and they were not interested to spread Islam to pagan tribes since this will hinder the raiding of these pagans for slaves. Since Muslims can't sell fellow Muslims as slaves. The Fulani ruler can't sell Hausa as slaves but they can raid pagan tribes like Bauchi (Bauchi means land of slaves in Hausa), Plateau, Nassarawa, Niger, Kebbi and generally areas you will see Christians today in northern Nigeria.

For example, Tafabalewa father is from a none Hausa from Bauchi, hence he was enslaved by the Fulani.
